Will you cheer or jeer Sundin?
Wed, January 7, 2009

TERRY JONES, SUN MEDIA

The world's most expensive hockey rental player, the subject of one of the sorriest "national" sports soap operas of all time, is going to be a major event here tonight, a feature photo-op of this entire NHL season.

Mats Sundin, after practice in Vancouver, gave himself the green light, boarded the flight and arrived here yesterday with the Canucks preparing to play in tonight's tilt against the Edmonton Oilers.

Will you cheer or jeer Sundin's return to the NHL? Have your say in our forum.

Sundin could make Canucks debut against Oilers

Who cares already! Enough is enough..

I agree with the majority of sports fans, enough already. Sundin in the end didn't do much for the Leafs over 13 seasons and the one time he couldn't helped bring in new talent, he refused. Good luck in Vancouver.

As a long time Leaf fan I'll neither cheer nor jeer.I really don't care.Mats never endeared himself to me like Clark,Gilmour,Keon,or Armstong did.He was here, now he's gone, let him go do his thing, who cares. He's a Canuckle Head now,let them cheer or jeer.

Why dont you keep his ugly face off the front page and let a hockey player get some air time. Can you think of how fast some kid from Saskatchewan would have been ready to play if he were offered a contract for only a portion of what this jerk is going to get. And you sports writers idolize this "never was has been"

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

What's up with the Canuks, they are paying this guy, he should be playing. They are paying him enough he should be ready to play.

Too bad he waited so long...he might have made it in there for an appointment to the senate if he'd been a little quicker on the up-take.

It's amazing to me how a class act and world-class player like Sundin can play for 13 years for a consistently worthless team like the Leafs and get nothing but venom when he leaves because he didnt allow himself to be traded. Typical Leafs Nation BS and to think T.O. wonders why they cant attract big name talent anymore. "Hey come here and play for our team for your best years and we'll say horrible things about you when you leave and blame you for things that you had nothing to do with." What a joke.

I am surprised that he went for the money as I thought he wanted to be on a contender which Vancouver is not, even with Bobby Lu in net. He won't have nearly the impact in Van that the faithful think because he's too old and hasn't played for almost a year. A 10 million dollar cap hit for nothing. Only three players in the league who MIGHT be worth that and Sundin isn't one of them.(Crosby,OV and Malkin.)
