The world's most expensive hockey rental player, the subject of one of the sorriest "national" sports soap operas of all time, is going to be a major event here tonight, a feature photo-op of this entire NHL season.
Mats Sundin, after practice in Vancouver, gave himself the green light, boarded the flight and arrived here yesterday with the Canucks preparing to play in tonight's tilt against the Edmonton Oilers.
Will you cheer or jeer Sundin's return to the NHL? Have your say in our forum.
Riveting stuff! Here's a "finger" back at ya. The fact that Leafs fans even read this crapola is an indication that you're catering to a Zombie Nation.

Today, it's a "feature" about a journeyman who just completed a stint in jail. Wow

Another day - another article about Sundin. Maybe now, Peter, you see what I mean.

I wish Sundin would just go away. If he couldn't get motivated for $20 million from Vancouver, who the hell thinks he would be motivated to play for Toronto again? What would he do to help the team win? He already tried and look what has happened over the past eight years.
Regardless of how good he was, how good he may have been if the Leafs had the right players for him, the bottom line is they didn't win with him. Exiting after the first round does not constitute winning. Waiting for a team to lose on the final game of the season in order for the Leafs to enter the playoffs does not constitute winning.
Sundin is not a player to re-build a team around and the Leafs need a new team, period.
Good-bye Matts. Thank you for all of your efforts, but it is time for you to move on elsewhere. After the waiting and selfishness of you screwing up many teams plans due to your indecision, I hope that you chose to retire. Then we can begin the process of forgetting the sad ending to a wonderful, and hard working career. with your antics of the past few months.

Actually, it was the NY Post. Even so, this Canoe site sports section consistently has a pic of Sundin rumoured to be going somewhere, or some other aspect of the Leafs to throw at us. If this is, indeed, Toronto-centric then let them come out and say so so those of us looking for for more than that can move on and find another as our main page.
