The world's most expensive hockey rental player, the subject of one of the sorriest "national" sports soap operas of all time, is going to be a major event here tonight, a feature photo-op of this entire NHL season.
Mats Sundin, after practice in Vancouver, gave himself the green light, boarded the flight and arrived here yesterday with the Canucks preparing to play in tonight's tilt against the Edmonton Oilers.
Will you cheer or jeer Sundin's return to the NHL? Have your say in our forum.
He should play in Sweden. Slower hockey, closer to home. The Leafs are painful to watch but bringing him back to Toronto would not improve the product. Keep the younger players on this team so they can take their licks. The fan base will watch, no matter who skates.

He should take his golf clubs and go toplay in Spain

No one cares. He really isn't as important as he thinks he is. I hope he plays one game, get hurt and we never hear from him again. I'm just sick of HIS drama.

Plain and simple,Mats should go back and finish his career in Sweden. You guys give him way too much air time.

Who do they(Sundin/his agent) think he is?He is over the hill and should go back to Sweden to play oldtimers hockey.

Who cares where or if he plays this year? YAWN! He should just retire. This little melodrama did nothing to endear him to anybody.

Mats, What a soap opera, after all this 'wait n'see' crap, I don't even care anymore where you go, just GO!!!

He should go and play by himself. We're tired of the Sundin opera!

Have to agree with Fred as well - his "cherry picking" has disrupted the plans for a number of teams.
Too much fuss for a 37 year old that has yet to win anything.

Apparently, teams still want him to play for them, and are willing to pay millions to do so.
