The world's most expensive hockey rental player, the subject of one of the sorriest "national" sports soap operas of all time, is going to be a major event here tonight, a feature photo-op of this entire NHL season.
Mats Sundin, after practice in Vancouver, gave himself the green light, boarded the flight and arrived here yesterday with the Canucks preparing to play in tonight's tilt against the Edmonton Oilers.
Will you cheer or jeer Sundin's return to the NHL? Have your say in our forum.
I really don't think that one person is worth all the fuss. One person doesn't win the cup, it is a team effort.
Why didn't Sundin make up his mind at the start of the season who was going to pay him his oversized salary? He just wanted to wait it out and drive up the bidding war for his services.

Go Back to your Country, you are useless to us in Canada. What a JERK

I can't see the Canucks winning the cup so the bottom line is the Leafs got nothing for Sundin, and he go a lot of money. Ain't the world great kids!?

If it gets his smiling yap off these sites at last, you bet it's the right move.

I think this is the right move considering Vancouver's Salary Cap.
Although I am a Toronto Fan, I'm glad he went to the Vancouver Canucks.

Well now we know, its Vancouver. Great just imagine his salary going towards the deficit! Wouldn't it be great, get rid of him and give the money to Canada.

Who cares it's getting old already.

I realy hope he signs with the Rangers or Florida, as far away from Western Canada as is possible. Maybe - just maybe you writers can then think of something else to write about as you have worn this story out a long time ago.

What ever happened to:
"I want to play a whole season with one team, from training camp right through to the end of the season"
Isn't that why he didn't want to be traded last year?
Or was he trying to screw the Leafs and their Fans, like the other 3 chumps (McCabe, Tucker, Kubina) did?
Thanks for nothing Sundin.
