There are few Canadian public figures as polarizing as Don Cherry.
You either love him or you hate him.
And what’s not to love?
Grapes is pure entertainment.
His constant European bashing and cheer-leading for the leafs gets tiring after a while.
Plus, his knowledge is just purely common hockey sense.
Plus he brags about being such a great coach...He was terrible.
The day he and Ron leave the CBC the better hockey night in Canada will be.
And as for the whole Don for PM...Do you really want to live in a redneck third world country?

Most people in public positions these days change their opinions more often than most change their underwear, depending on "popular opinion"
Don you have been an icon in Canadian history. Class act all the way!

Cherry is an icon. He is probably the proudest Canadian we'll ever know, certainly in my life-time. He says it like it is and he's said things that thousands of us would like to say. He says what he feels. He says things that need and should be said that politicians don't have the gonads to say.
I met Cherry at Pearson Airport when I was on my way out to CFB Shearwater and I thanked him for both his honesty and his amazing support of the military. I shook his hand and he said "All you guys and gals in uniform make us Canadians proud every day." How can you not respect the man for that alone!
Don Cherry is HNIC.
