I believe Jonas Frogren bought out his contract in Sweden, not Jonas Hoglund.

The Flames made a big mistake signing Todd Bertuzzi, I will never be able to get that incident of the sucker punch out of my mind, even if the Flames were able to win the cup their's something about Bertuzzi holding the cup over is head that doesn't seem right.....

I would love to see Sakic come back to Quebec and play for habs. Forget Sundin

Pete,

Anyone who thinks Mats Sundin won't be in the HHOF needs to have their head examined.

This is a player who has been to story of consistency - how many players in NHL history have more points than he does? Not that many.

Plus, he has done it largely with slugs on his wings while with the Maple Leafs.

Hossa signing for one year even though it is over 7 mil is SHOCKING! Don't get me wrong I think its fine he did it. However if I am an athlete and someone offers me a 10 year deal with a sizeable bonus (all assumed of course) and guaranteed money I don't take it to sign for one year.

I don't care what is said about athletes signing for big bucks if I could secure a future for my family or myself with that kind of money I couldn't walk away from it because so much could change from one year to the next.

An injury, poor scoring output, a lockout ..anything accidents at home or else where.

Getting an opportunity to sign for that long at that kind of money could be once in a lifetime. Shocking to see it turned down! Good luck to Hossa hope it pays off for him.

I'm betting Mats will take his time while he's basking in the sun on the Baltic coast and playing golf, but will resign with the Leafs for two more years. He has said all along he wants to finish his career in T.O.To be fair to him he has never had much of a supporting cast and if he comes back not much will change in that regard.I expect the Leafs will make a modest improvement in the standings but will still be hard pressed to make the playoffs with or without Mats.

Anyone that thinks Sundin is a better player need there head examined, all make me laff fans no doubt.

He has 1 year of 100 plus points when he played with Sakic and Forsberg in Quebec his rookie year.

He is nothing more than a point a game player if that, there are second line centers in the NHL that get as many points as he does.

The Nords knew what they were doing by keeping Sakic and Forsberg and trading Sundin. They get the best 2 centers.

Hopefully he will sign with a new NHL team and finally get rid of that core ( except McCabe ) that has done squat for the last umpteen years.

nah nah nah nah, hey hey, goodbye sundin

Jagr is one the more talented players ever to play the game, but hockey fans don't pay big bucks to watch players who only give 100% when they feel like it.

Besides, like Ramblin' Rick said, he's over the hill anyway.
