Who will win the Conn Smythe Trophy? Tue, May 13, 2008
Awarded annually to the player judged most valuable to his team during the NHL's Stanley Cup playoffs, the Conn Smythe Trophy has only ever been awarded to 36 different players since it was introduced in the 1964-65 NHL season.
Multiple winners include names like Bobby Orr, Bernie Parent, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy.
Players from teams that lost the Stanley Cup, have won the Conn Smythe Trophy five times. Jean-Sebastien Giguere had that dubious honour in 2003.
With many outstanding players giving it their all in the semifinal stages, there are more than a few candidates.

Evgeni Malkin Because When Crosby Was Injured Malkin Seeemed Like The Go To Guy For Pittsburgh, Malkin Is Still Doing Better Than Crosby In The Playoffs.

I would say Crosby or Datsyuk, both of those guys have elevated there gamesand in doing so every other player on there teame have also raised their game...Both great players playing on great teams...both teams are deserving of the cup and both players are deserving of the Conn Smythe trophy beach team i

How about Osgood the Wings are unbeaten since he replace the old man that was in net. Without the fine play of Osgood they wouldn't even be in it!

Its to early to say, there are several players that could win it. Alot will depend on how they play in the cup finals.

Sidney Crosby....whether Pittsburgs wins or not he has been amazing to watch and every team has had to adjust their gameplan to play against him and he still finds a way to dazzle them...too bad they didn't have another winger to go along with Hossa to finish off those fine passes...he'd have double the points by now....like him or not...at 20 he's a machine and clearly he is the poster boy for everything that is hockey!!!
