Who will win the Conn Smythe Trophy? Tue, May 13, 2008
Awarded annually to the player judged most valuable to his team during the NHL's Stanley Cup playoffs, the Conn Smythe Trophy has only ever been awarded to 36 different players since it was introduced in the 1964-65 NHL season.
Multiple winners include names like Bobby Orr, Bernie Parent, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy.
Players from teams that lost the Stanley Cup, have won the Conn Smythe Trophy five times. Jean-Sebastien Giguere had that dubious honour in 2003.
With many outstanding players giving it their all in the semifinal stages, there are more than a few candidates.
Who do you think will win the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2008?

I had the pleasure of meeting Marc-Andre Fleury the year he was drafted at the Bob Hartley golf tournament in Lachute. He is a fine young man and an outstanding goaltender! He has held the Penguins in the Playoffs and deserves the Conn Smythe Trophy hands down!

If Pittsburgh wins, Fleury. If Detroit wins, Zetterburg.

There is no question, the best player in the finals has been Marc Andre Fleury. He has shot down the Wings, (and also in the games prior to the finals) and has given Pittsburg a chance to show how good a young (and nervous) team can be. Pittsburg may not win this year, (hopefully they do though) but if they can hold on the the team they have, (yes even Malkin) look out in the next couple of years. Guaranteed!

Without a doubt and regardless of which team wins the cup...Marc Andre Fleury! Hands down! Without this young man Pittsburg would not be in the finals.
Yes..the whole playoff run is absolutely too long!

I really don't know who will win the Conn Smythe Trophy, but I'm sure glad tonight the season will be finished - hopefully.
It's getting up near 80 degrees - not the type of weather that makes me think hockey.
Season is too long anyways.

Norbit, take solice in the fact that the latter is a leaf fan, that alone depicts what he knows about hockey. "GO LEAFS GO!!" As for your comment that Norbit is the only blogger here that can get both feet in his mouth. Have you not read the comments from Wayne, Collise, Tabernack, Ken, Jimmy the American Idiot, George "know it all" O'Leary, Ken, Big mouth from Ottawa etc. etc. They all spew common laymen observations that a four year old could see and think that their hockey gods. At least Norbit has something tangible to see if you would shut up and really listen. But, you'll probably just continue being the idiot that you are cheering on your Maple laffs and believing that they have a ligitimate shot at the playoffs let alone stanley cup.
