The opening game of the NHL's Western Conference final was no contest.
The Detroit Red Wings continued to roll, winning their seventh straight game, in ripping the Dallas Stars 4-1 Thursday night.
As if they didn't already have enough offensive weapons, the Wings turned what had been an ordinary power play thus far in the post-season into a three-goal flame thrower.

Can anyone stop the Red Wings this year?

I know what your problem is, you are on cheap drugs clown. You make it sound like the 2 kids are the secong coming of Gretz and Mess lol. Get real clown they both might be around 80 - 85 point a year players. If you think they both will be 100 or more you are dumber than even I thought lol.

Wrong again pin-head. But of course, that's nothing new for you. You're wired wrong!
Does using this nick give you some sort of perverted sense of power? As I said elsewhere, it's all designed to add an inch to an otherwise insignificant (and not so vital in your case) part of your body.

DisgruntledFan, your back. Why the new nome de plumme? We all know this is actually George "know it all" O'leary and his old age rants. Running the limits of his cap? We don't even know what the cap will be yet, rummor is, it will be close to 50. As it is he has nearly 35% remaining for his role players.

Did someone actually suggest that teams might make offer sheets to Gagner and Cogliano? Impossible, since Lowe has them locked up until 2010/11 at $875,000 and $850,000 respectively.
Having said that, he is nudging the limits of his cap with $28,467,000 committed to 8 players next year (Souray, Penner, Hemsky, Staios, Pisani. Torres, Roloson, and Horcoff - the last two only for next season).
Like a lot of teams they are getting close to that point where they can't take on any more huge contracts.
But what he has is quality and, for the most part anyway, youth. I just bet he wishes he hadn't gone after Souray.

Im not sure what your general problem with the Oilers is but it would be better if you just stopped because it merely underlines your lack of knowledge. They will make the playoffs next year without a doubt. Free agents? Lol, you live in the past my friend. Edmonton is well aware it is not the most attractive free-agent destination because players are spoiled and soft these days. They are building slowly with an excellent young core, young d-men and young goalie with a decent mix of steady veterans to help them along. They will be a playoff team next year and a contender within 3 or 4.
Im not sure who your team is, but please try to view things as they really are, not how you would wish them to be. It just makes you look biased, bitter and even a tad obsessed.
I never once denied the Oilers sucked in the late 90's when money ruled the league, just like I will not say they suck now when most hockey people agree they have one of the best young up-and-coming teams in the league. Offer sheets to Gagner and Cogliano you say? lol, as if Lowe will let them go. He has already shown he is aware of the RFA situation by signing his most important ones already. try again Oilers haters.

You cant look and say who is 1st and or 5th in scoring in the playoffs as those stats tend to mislead.
At this time of the year, one would find average players staying near to the top just becauser they are still playing.
I hope the Wings end it tonight.
The rest of the NHL teams need to look at the model of players that Wings have.
They have focused upon European players that are fast and strong.
The past five years we have seen Europeans dominate with the exception of Vinny and Jarome.

The Pens have the talent to win but not the experience to sustain that level of effort. Right now, unless the Wings lay down the Pens won't win three straight games and that's not going to happen.
Aside from that I can't believe the number of people ridiculing hockey players on this newsgroup. Crosby and Malkin are 1st and 5th in playoff scoring, but that's not good enough apparently.

Yes, the Red Wings will win the Stanley Cup.
Hopefully the season will be over on Monday night.

Unfortunately, the Penguins need more depth and learn to play team defence like the Wings.
If anyone doubts Zetterberg, look at the play he made on Crosby with the open net. Crosby is good, but he isnt great, Malkin is brilliant, but not a playoff performer. Fleury is a good goalie as it Osgood.
The third and fourth lines are proving the series difference. Pittsburgh's 3rd and fourth lines cant keep up with the Wings'.
Maybe Pittsburgh will make some deals and get the missing pieces to make the transition.
out'!

pete 12 year old kid
malkin would be a perfect fit in edmonton, only plays when he feels like it lol. Since he doesnt like the tight checking and more physical hockey in the playoffs edmonton would be a perfect team for him since they wont make the playoffs for years and years to come lmfao.
No free agents will ever sign in edmonton again because edmonton sucks, its the buffalo ( City not team ) of Canada lol.
P.S.
Did you get your homework done kid ? lol
