Is Ron Wilson right about Sundin?
Thu, September 4, 2008

On one hand, Ron Wilson said he respects Sundin for not rushing back if he is unsure whether or not he wants to play -- adding that he would welcome back the longtime Leafs captain with open arms.

On the other hand, Wilson suggested that one of the problems with the sad-sack Leafs last year was a distinct lack of leadership.

And you don't have to be Howie Meeker to connect the dots there, that leadership is supposed to be one of the major responsibilities of the team captain.

Is Wilson right about the Leafs recent poor form?

Full story: Wilson suggests Mats was part of the problem

Now maybe Paul Maurice can get an opportunity with a team focussed on hockey and winning and not have to keep looking over his shoulder while a new GM gets put in place. To Mr.Maurice, I believe this is your lucky day.

The Next Man to run the Maple Leafs is simple: Bill Watters

The Man that Watters hires to be the next coach: Pat Burns with Doug Gilmour as an assistant

Fred Flintstone is not availabe, he's going to work for the Hens in Ottawa, and Krusty the clown is already there. They will have to look for somebody else...

I have coached minor hockey since 1994, so how about me? I am used to dealing with immature players and have no expectations of success...I'd fit right in!!!!

Peter DeBoer. Chances are he'll laugh it off, but they need to contact him... He was in the running the last time, but he needed to be with his family for medical reasons, and turned them down.

With all the money that the Leafs organization has....money should be no object to hire the best GM and Coach that is available. If these guys, (MLSE), are truly serious about winning...now is their chance to step up and PROVE IT. If they go and hire some inexperienced GM and rookie coach....then they are basically saying they don't care about winning and it's all about profits. They have saved over $30 million a year since the new contract due to the salary cap....quit stuffing your own pockets and go get the right people to run this Hockey Team.

With the kind of team (players) the Leafs have you don`t hire anyone, save the money, after all are there any real Hockey players on that team.
Gordon Wadleigh, 2008-05-07 12:22:51

It doesn't really matter who coaches the Leafs...same results without a competent GM and with interference from the suits of MLSE.
