Is Ron Wilson right about Sundin? Thu, September 4, 2008
On one hand, Ron Wilson said he respects Sundin for not rushing back if he is unsure whether or not he wants to play -- adding that he would welcome back the longtime Leafs captain with open arms.
On the other hand, Wilson suggested that one of the problems with the sad-sack Leafs last year was a distinct lack of leadership.
And you don't have to be Howie Meeker to connect the dots there, that leadership is supposed to be one of the major responsibilities of the team captain.
Can you think of any one else who could represent the organization on the ice as it is run today?
Sorry Leaf Nation - The truth hurts!

It matters not who coaches the side if they have no side to coach. The leafs need to unload the older staff who had their chance to show their worth but fell short this year.
I would rather see a bunch of youngsters playing their hearts out than watch another year of the present setup.
The fans are also to blame as they seem prepared to watch any team that is put together. My advice would be switch to basketball and at least you will see a playoff round.

Maurice was the right guy at the wrong time.Do nothing GM / lousy management / MEDIOCRE PLAYERS. Not a winning combination. They need to clean house and Sundin should be the first to go. Any player who's desire to retire in TO. is greater than winning the Stanley Cup is in the wrong league. To bad TO did not get Ted Nolan when they had the chance. This guy is an inspiration to all he comes in contact with. M.Keenan / T.Nolan / W.Clark. That ought to get the job done.
I was there in the 60's, the players had fire in there bellies then. Not like the Wusses hockey produces today (TO has the market covered there).
Just recently moved to USA, 1/2 hr out of Detroit...awesome team, just awesome.

Bring on a coach who has the background of a teacher, leader and great winning percentage. It's wins and losses that count, not all that other stuff about whether he's coached in the NHL. Why keep revolving old coaches around the league?! Bring in the best coach ever, coach Garry Mccann from Winnipeg, now leading USA hockey in Florida. A total hockey guy who turns ordinary players in to champions. I speak from experience. He has a gift. He told me he credits Dave Keon, Billy Harris and Scotty Bowman for his success in understanding what it takes to win. What a gifted coach. Everyone on the Leafs said they had fun, Sundin, Maurice, etc. Well, it's not fun if you're not winning. Coach Mccann wins! Want fun again in Toronto, Mr, Fletcher, please call the best coach, a winner everywhere he's been.

It doesn;t matter who comes to Toronto, the orginization will continue to be a joke like it has for the past 40 years until it is sold to someone who will run it like a sports team with one purpose, WINNING. Look at Montreal this year.
