Can Canada win the World Championship? Mon, May 12, 2008
Canada overcame its first true challenge at the IIHF World Hockey Championship but had some worrisome flaws exposed in the process.
Dany Heatley's second goal of the game with 46.8 seconds left in the third period lifted Canada to a 5-4 victory over the U.S. He one-timed a Rick Nash pass over the glove of Craig Anderson while falling to the ice for his tournament-leading sixth goal.
Is Canada good enough to win the World Championship?

These Canadians are some of the best players in the NHL, they happen to play for teams that arent very good. Cant hold that against them.
They would make the playoffs if they played in the NHL and give the better teams a run for there money in the playoffs.

Sorry, I'm watching the NHL playoffs. Watching something second rate like this doesn't interest me anyways. The playoff are enough for me.

Well at least Philly has some Canadian talent that could make our team , Montreal talent will only benefit European teams

Incredibly Rick Nash has been doing better then expected, and I do not agree with Bill who says that there was a heck put on a team. It is just what it is. Perhaps a better team coordination might help, but then again I'm not there - edward-palonek.com
Thanks

Them last additions of Mike Green and Ryan Getzlaf were huge. Stevie Y has put a heck of a team together.
I cant wait for this tourney to start, we are going to kick butt.

Canada is the greatest hockey nation not because of talent, but depth. It's hard to go wrong when choosing players.
Even with many of our best players still in the Stanley Cup playoffs, we're still a favourite to win gold.
What a surprise that the cynical and bitter remark comes from someone in Ottawa.
