Who will win UFC 83?
Fri, April 18, 2008

Trainer Greg Jackson knew something was wrong with Georges St. Pierre before the fighter even stepped into the cage one year ago against Matt Serra at UFC 69 in Houston.

The two go at it again Saturday night in Montreal at UFC 83 at a soldout Bell Centre in the UFC's Canadian debut. And those close to St. Pierre say the 26-year-old Quebecer is fit, focused and extremely motivated.

Who do you think will win this weekend? Will St. Pierre regain his title or will Serra hold on? Have your say in our forum.

The UFC has come a long way since it first started out. The days of a 5'9, 150 pounder against a 6'2, 230 pounder are long gone. A few died from the way it was ran in the beginning. It is now goverened in a better way that there are rarely any serious injuries if any at all.

Now with its weight classes there are no more size mismatches.

Time for Ontario to get on board with the UFC. I would go to the ACC to see a UFC event in a heart beat.

The UFC helped Montreal make millions I would bet in resturant and hotel industry.

People come from all over the world for UFC fights.

Wake up Ontario government, the province could be making alot of money of this.

awwwwww I just noticed this thread sunday the 20th. Well I spose we all know GSP showed whos the boss. First time I have ever seen a ref stoppage due to boddy shots, but hey thats cool!!! The first time around Serra got lucky, not to say it wouldn't happen again. There is always a punchers chance in a fight. I think to dominate him on the ground shold say something. GSP is the new and improved fighter taht Hughes was!

Can someone wake up the bureaucrats in Ontario and tell them to watch the tape of UFC 83? MMA events are successful and need to come to Ontario arenas, we have waited long enough. Who agrees with me?

Congrats GSP !!!!! Great fight, you totally dominated Serra. Take down 10 second in, awesome job.

Looking forward to your next fight hopefully some time in October and back in Canada again.

I really like both these guys and it really should be a great fight. But I have to go with Serra on this one.Fact is some guys just do well against certain opponents even if they seem to be out classed. We know Serra can beat George , but can George beat Serra? Until he does I'm going with Serra. However being Canadian if George wins I'd be cool with that too.

St.Pierre would win back his title in front of his hometown crowd also the Montreal Canadians would also rip The Boston Bruins as well.

St.Pierre all the way !!!!!!!! He will win in the first round !!!!!!!!!

Cant wait to watch him kick Serra's ass all the way back to the USA LOL.

Go Pierre Go !!!!

I think georges St.Pierre is going to rock Serra in the first round and either knock him out or submit him.

St.Pierre wants to redeem himself for losing the title to Serra and I dont think Serra has trained as hard as he should have because he thinks it will be over in the first round again.

Go St.Pierre
