The Maple Leafs have traded Carlo Colaicovo and Alex Steen to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for forward Lee Stempniak.
Stempniak, 25, a native of West Seneca, N.Y., scored 27 goals two seasons ago.
This season, he has three goals and 10 assists through 14 games.
Is this a good move for the Leafs? Have your say in our forum.
Colaiacovo, Steen dealt to Blues
As much as I hate to admit it, he's the best GM the Leafs have had in years.
I can't wait for Brian Ballard.....oops Burke to screw things up.

"Stempniak plays in St.Louis where there is almost no pressure at all, now he's going to TO where players are expected to walk on water." - Sez you.
Heck, ALL players walk on water - it's called ice!

Ron, Don't put Nik out there 4 on 4, it isn't his forte.

Look at Wellwood. The entire Leafs Nation said, "oh trade that bum!" and look at what he's doing this year in Vancouver. McCabe has also done better since leaving. I dont think the Leafs problem is personnel, I think its the hockey culture that surrounds them and puts ridiculous pressure and completely unreasonable expectations on guys who are STILL DEVELOPING. How much you want to bet that people will be calling out Schenn by the end of the year? Until the organization AND the fans learn some patience, any promising young talent will continue to flounder.

Steen and Colaicovo were basically invisible, except when Steen was penalty killing.
I actually think Fletcher may be on crack...Stepniack a top 6 forward???? Only on the Leafs. Fletch should be looking for top 6 forwards from another team, preferrably at the top of the standings.
