Are the Leafs pulling off good moves?
Mon, November 24, 2008

The Maple Leafs have traded Carlo Colaicovo and Alex Steen to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for forward Lee Stempniak.

Stempniak, 25, a native of West Seneca, N.Y., scored 27 goals two seasons ago.

This season, he has three goals and 10 assists through 14 games.

Is this a good move for the Leafs? Have your say in our forum.

If this was truly the good deed the Laffs management want us to buy hook, line and sinker then donate all the money from the game ( concessions etc ) to charity, then and only then will I buy this bs story.

Am I the only one who thinks the free tickets are a Peddie idea to try to reverse some of his bad image problem?

Just released schedule will doom Laffs to 2-6-2 start. What would make more sense is to give a refund for one November game to everyone who shelled out their money. By November, Laffs fans will see just how depressing things are and will really be after Sir Richard's hide. When Fletch is already saying its going to be a long season, look out! Cliffhanger must have given up trying to make trades as players such as Alexei and Carlo just don't seem to have any market value and are still hanging around. At least put Carlo on a diet and don't play Alexei unless he agrees to use the body. 90% of the opposition is smaller than he is. Why won't he throw his ample weight around and use his size to advantage?

Mess in Laffland continues while in places like Tampa Bay UNDER NEW OWNERS the turn around is already evident.

There are simply not enough player changes and scouting staff upgrades to suit me.

OMG, what a deal, free ticket to watch a exhibition game that will have at least half the team made up of minor leaguers and junior players. Where / how do I sign up for this bargain of a deal ??????

The Maple Leafs should cut ticket prices by 50 % right across the board. The up coming team will be nothing more than a decent AHL wearing NHL uniforms.

I know come Saturday night I will find something more constructive to do then watch these minor leaguers.

For my hockey fix on Saturday nights I will watch the late game involving Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver, the west is a better, faster and more entertaining game I find.

I my self have to say i'm not a Leaf fan. I think with the ticket cost and the average family they cannot afford to go see a game on the hope that they may become addicted to the game. What hockey needs is young people comming to the games and becomming fans. These are your ticket buyers of the future. If it is an enjoyable time at the game they will want to come back. The only thing i hope is that a bunch of greedy people dont get there hands on these tickets and try to make money on them. Where i live there is no professional hockey just minor league so it would be nice to see some and be able to take the kids to see such a wonderfull game.

Nice idea but they talked about how the price point of tickets makes it difficult for the average fan to attend a game. If they really cared, how about an across the board price decrease on all tickets. That would open up much more than 20,000 tickets over the course of the season.

wowwww this is the big announcement that fletcher was bragging about on monday and will announced wednesday..everyone thought it was a blockbuster trade a signing and this is what is was. i wouldnt go for free to watch this jr c team in the regular season let alone in the pre season and i was offered two tickets last year from a friend for free and i said thanks but no thanks...man oh man if fletcher thinks this is a major announcement as was stated on monday i think he needs more gerital no wonder the leafs as a whole are in trouble...what a joke!!!!!!

You mean people paid money to watch the leafs pre-season games?
