No, it is not an adequate punishment. Issue a major fine to the player, the coach and the team. Suspended for the remainder of the season and 10 games into next season.

Neither should be involved in hockey again.

THERE GO MY DEFENCE OF HOCKEY IS JUST AN VIOLENT PROMOTING INSTEAD OF EXCITING GAME.THANK A LOT ROY......

There's no harm in a little roughing or possibly at little fighting. But from what i saw of footage looked like an all out brawl to me that seemed unnecessary. I don't know what they are talking about when they talk of the "Roy temper". Patrick Roy's temper is nothing compared to many other players i have seen. In any case, this sounds like the first strike so i say the sentence was fair. If it happens again, then maybe further punishment like getting banned from the league will suffice. and no more bertuzzi incidents...you pull bullcrap like that, you never work in that field again, certainly not the NHL.

I lost all interest in Hockey many years ago. The latest incident convinces me that the sport is not worth investing in.

Not enough! Both should be gone for the playoffs and a large fine. That was just stupid hockey, reminds me of the Flyers in the 70's.

I'm so sick of this hot head and his arrogant attitude, this guy needs a life lesson but again he gets another slap in the wrist, what a joke, I hope mister wonderfull gets whats coming to him someday and as for his son the old cocunut doesnt fall to far from the tree.

Not near enough punishment,Roy has an ego that can't be matched, father and son should have received 30 games at least, what a piece of work these two are, bad for hockey.......

I don't think the punishment on Patrick Roy was anywhere near enough as far as game suspensions go, but I do think he's lost a lot more in being a father.

Specifically, Patrick Roy can now take with him that he has taught his sone to be a good goaltender. However, he can also take credit for teaching his son how to disrespect his opponents and fans of the sport. Patrick can also take credit for teaching his son, firsthand, how to publicly deny and outright lie to the media.

Having said that, I feel the biggest loser in all of this is Jonathan Roy and he's lost on many different levels. His dad, Patrick, can take credit for that too.

Patrick Roy has never had much of a head on his shoulders. Good goaltender but hit by too big of an ego and with that a heck of a holier than thou atitude. Why do parents want to send their kids to be coached by a hockey mental freak. Gordie
