Who will be awarded the Hart Trophy ?
Sun, March 23, 2008

The very notion that the Washington Capitals must make the playoffs for Alexander Ovechkin to win the Hart Trophy is ludicrous. He has been the best player in hockey this season. He has been the most impactful player.

If the Caps miss out by a point or two, how does that lessen what Ovechkin has accomplished?

Ovechkin still Hart worthy.

I agree with you, Ovenchkin will take a beating against the Flyers. They will intimidate him like the Canadian team did in the world junior championship.

Luckily the voting is done before the playoffs. Ovechkin did have a career year but the playoffs are a more tight checking, intense game and I dont think he will average 1 point a game.

Ovechkin by a mile. Not just because he is the first 60 goal scorer since Lemieux and Jagr, and led the NHL in total points, shots,GWG and PPG also because he makes every player around him better. Can anyone seriously say that the Caps would be anywhere near the playoffs without Ovechkin? He is easily the most valuable player to his team.

As for Malkin, he is indeed awesome, but Malkin has had the benefit of Crosby, Sykora and others this year, and if he were out the Penguins are still a good team, while the Caps would be done without Ovechkin. The Hart was Ovechkin's the second the Caps qualified.

OV is the best in the league at what he does. Produce points.

In the East he is definitely the best player bar none but most valuable to his team is up for debate.

I am glad that someone has finally mentioned Malkin. He might be a better player than Ovechkin by next season

Pete

Rick was being sarcastic. You should lighten up and relax. You take these threads way to serious. get a sense of humour and laugh once in a while.

P.S.

Can you ever comment on the question asked for us to comment on or you just like looking like a idiot trying to put down everyone elses comments.

Peace out.

Ricky et other leaf fans. Are you guys for real or just amature comic "releaf". But seriously, does the water flow upstream from the Pickering reactor? You guys are out there man, the only award to go to any leaf would be the proverbial most improved. Usually given to the one everyone felt sorry for. Come to think of it, know one feels sorry for the leafs, they get nothing, well maybe sunburned on the golf course.

Ovechkin all the way....next year Malkin, and as for Ovechkin being a puck hock and shooting over 400 times, isn't that part of hockey, if you don't shoot you don't score.
jimf, 2008-04-03 15:23:23

Ovechkin is a puck hog. He is the typical Russian, shoot from just about anywhere. He has well over 400 shots, to me he is not the MVP.

Ovechkin or Brodeur.
