Are you happy with the Sens' offseason moves?
Thu, August 28, 2008

The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.

They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.

Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.

Once again, not so sure what your problem with the Oilers is, but Pronger's leaving had a lot more to do with his "extra-curricular activities" than out of anything to do with Edmonton itself. Likely you're a Leafs fan in which case I say, lol! If you're a fan of Vancouver(lol!), Calgary(they're ok) or Montreal/Ottawa(choke artists) you have my deepest sympathies. As I have stated before, Edmonton is going the way of youth and development, rather than signing overrated free-agents to bloated contracts, and have one of the best young teams in the league. The big-ticket free-agent era is over. Period. Only the uninformed like yourself still cling to that old chestnut. Try thinking a little before you toss out stupid comments.

DisgruntledFan, No problem, truce. However, I must reiterate that there was/is several Petes and I think I have been delcared guilty by association. Now, Wayne, thats a whole different kettle of fish.

pete the 12 year old kid is an idiot. dont waste your time trying to reason with him, he is after all an edmonton ( cant sign any free agents because NOBODY wants to live there ) oilers fan lol.

Just ask Pronger why he wanted out so badly after only 1 year lmao.

Pete, I truly don't care about those kinds of errors - but I did use it to fling arrows back at you in response to the insults that came the other way.

If you're willing, let's just agree to disagree in those areas where we have differences of opinion, but without the insults. The points will still be made - and I don't think either of us is going to change our opinions just because the other disagrees.

Truce?

DisgruntledFan, Yeah, I'm not so anal about the spelling, gramar, gotta have every small nuiance thing correct. As long as the general point gets through, that's all that really matters. Afterall it is only sports, not life and death. Relax a little and have some fun.

Ron Wilson would have been a much better choice, but Toronto beat Ottawa to him.

Holy Aspirin, Batman, I had to go outside to see if there were two moons in the sky or if pigs were flying, as I actually agreed with everything Pete just wrote about the Pens.

However, Pete, Pittsburgh is not in the same division as either Montreal or Washington. I think you meant Conference.
DisgruntledFan, 2008-06-23 17:27:40

Cros87, Take this and put it in your pipe to smoke as you are clearly on something. Your team put up a fight in the final. What final were you watching, the only fight witnessed by hockey fans was the leauges (refs) lame arse attempt at making the series go as long as possible. Your Pens were comletely and utterly outplayed and outclassed. We won't even get into the dynamics of keeping Hossa, Malkin, Malone etc. Crybaby Crosby has allot of growing up to do before he is capable of leading a team to the Stanley Cup. They will be lucky to make it to the playoffs next year. Watch out for Washington and Montreal from your division.

Theres plently of talent that are on the table and lots of fresh horses waiting to be picked up. If Ottawa thinks it over and make some smart decisions they can get a "Smurfing" load of Talented players and some new bright and upcoming stars and they will be able to contend for the Next Stanley Cup.

Hartsburg is a good coach but he can't turn the losing momentum of the team around by himself. This team was so close to the top of the mountain just two years ago and just like a snowball rolling down the mountain it is getting bigger and hasn't stopped rolling yet.Can Hartsburg stop the losing momentum and drag the team back up the mountain by himself? No, but if Murray can make some good deals in the upcoming trades they could contend again this year. The direction the team goes is fully on Murrays shoulders.
