Are you happy with the Sens' offseason moves?
Thu, August 28, 2008

The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.

They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.

Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.

All I have to say to Bell is "have a good summer in jail for the hit & run charge".

Yah, the Sens will make the playoffs, but wont go far. They are out of gas (when a team only gets 2 and half months downtime during the off season, it takes a special group to be able to do it all over again). But the Sens will be back up there, and back up there soon. The Leafs? They will never be a better team as Leafs fans dont deserve any better than what they have. Imagine, cheering an injury to any player, never mind a star player. Crass and boarish.

I am sorry to break it to both Leaf and Sens fans. The hit on Alfredsson was clean, but should have been penalized. How can you have it both ways? When you look at the hit in slow motion, the elbow came up just as Bell lamb-basted Alfredsson. So in the tradition of Scott Stevens, Chris Pronger, and Dion Phaneuf, a larger player hitting a smaller player (who is admiring his own nice pass) totally unawares is completely legal in Gary Bettman's NHL, but should be punished for either an attempt to injure, or for the elbow.

I'm surprised how many Leaf fans got a good enough view of the Bell hit to call it clean. I have heard that TV reception isn't as good in the trailer parks as it is in the city.

Leaf fans hate the Senators because they're good and have been for a long time. Sens fans hate the Leafs because they're goons and have been for a long time. It's easy to see why the average mullet wearing, WWF loving Leaf fan adores them. Their Johnny Lunch Pail, blue collar, voted least likely to succeed attitude is really easy to identify with.

There's one benefit to having lots of Leaf fans in Ottawa. After the last home game versus the Leafs, I was able to wait outside ScotiaBank Place and book a plumber, a drywall guy and a guy to clean my septic tank this summer, all without having to open the phone book. I was able to get them earlier than I had hoped too since they weren't busy watching the playoffs.

Hey Mark Bell: remember to keep your back to the wall when you pick up the soap in the shower!!!

gerry, don't preach about class from Ottawa. the hens are most whinniest team in the league.

did you make it to the Cup final last year? wow, that make your team at least as good as the Florida Pathers. by the way, they don't award anything for being in the final. :-)

No sooner do I post something about the juvenile Sens fans yapping about the Laffs and how they "suck" (what an idiotic verb) than along comes the boneheads with their counter-comments against the Sens.

Few among you is worth even reading, let alone argue with. It seems your entire lives likely centre around dead-end jobs to match your collective IQ, a case of 24, and an evening screaming at the TV screen.

Get a &^%ing life - or grow up. What makes it even more ludicrous is, if Alfredsson ever wound up on the Leafs these same yabos would be lining up to kiss his ass.

My last comment ever in this idiotic forum.

gerry don't lump me in with the fans who cheered when alfie stayed down. i would never do that myself even if alfie deserved every bit of it, or do i need to remind you of his dirty work in the playoffs last year? Bell was just trying to throw a hit not take anyone out, he got his elbow up, yes, but i see that same hit in other games and the player hit is fine. finally i call scarborough my 2nd home and you would not last 2 minutes there, so dont even comment

the hit on alfie to bad so sad.Makes up for the running around hitting guys from behind which he is famous for. What goes around comes around
