Are you happy with the Sens' offseason moves?
Thu, August 28, 2008

The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.

They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.

Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.

Well, even if Ottawa might not stand a good chance to win the stanley cup this year, Toronto clearly made sure Ottawa won't get far. I wish the Sens the best, but they will likely lose in round 2 if not 1. Thanks Toronto...Look forward to laughing at your team for another STRAIGHT year. Come to think of it at least Ottawa made it to the final last year. Toronto hasn't even been in the final since 1967. Too bad ol harold Ballard wasn't still around...he could relish hanging out with stupid thugs like yourselves. Alfie is a knucklehead for blaming himself. that's good two shoes for you. I don't care what the hit is...you go for the head, you deserve to get your ass handed to you.

Did you forget you made this comment ?

oh, yeah. let's bring up the off-ice stuff. this is the "class" of Hens fans? i guess Heatley's accident was a lot different then Bell's. He killed his friend and teammate and got nothing for it.

What grit does the Leafs have ? They are a softer team than the Sens are. Only 2 players the Leafs had that played physical on a regular basis were traded at the deadline. Belak and Kilger. Rest of the team is soft, could count on 1 hand on many checks they did in a game.

What a slap in the face Senator's fans. The Penguins almost threw the game to avoid the Flyers and play Ottawa. I hope this riles up the troops a bit since Pittsburgh obviously doesn't respect the Sens.....

The difference is Heater was speeding and lost control of his car. Bell was drunk and hit someone from behind. I believe it was early in the day as well.

Speeding isnt a criminal offence, drunk driving is.

to Kevin,

there is another very big difference, Bell didn't kill anybody.

bytheway, i'm not sure what foes this have to do with this topick...

kw, while I don't disagree with anything you just said. the glee with which you just said it can't be ignored since it indicates you are a Leafs fan. First time since 1928-29 that they've missed the playoffs 3 years in a row and regardless of what Fletcher says the Leafs will likely not be terribly different in the fall due to the meddling of Peddie and his cronies. Flatcher on his own could probably make things happen but the brain-trust above him will hamper his ability to do much, and giving Fletcher carte-blanche over a team isn't the best of ideas as we've seen in the past. I understand though, in the face of your own teams lack of success or even hope for the future, you have to take pleasure in the Sens misery as that's all that Leaf fans have left, particularly with the Habs doing so well. Must be sad to exist like that, and Im not even a fan of either team lol. With my Oilers out (who btw actually have a LOT to look forward to) I will now root for the Flames without any ill will. Too bad Leafs fans can't do the same. Oh well.

There is one very big differnce between Bell's and Heaters accidents, Heater wasnt drunk or leave the scene.

Poor, poor Alfie! The guy who has rarely hit anyone in the last 10 years who back wasn't turned or wasn't at least turning away finally got his bell rung. Poor baby! Alfie has been giving cheap shots and getting away with it for his whole career so in my book its nice to see him be on the receiving end for change. maybe when he comes back he'll think twice before he blind sides the next guy.
