The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.
They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.
Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.
Yeah The Sens made it to the final last year...good on them. It was the only second time they've made it out of the second round twice in last 10 years.
Sure the Leafs have missed the playoffs the last three years but they are still top three in play off games played in the past ten years. They may not have made the finals or won the cup but when the do get in the almost certainly go farther than the perennial choke and burn Sens.
Making the playoffs 10 yrs in a row is great until you look close and see the team has lost in the first round 6 (soon to be 7) times and made past the 2nd round twice.
When the Sens win 3 playoff series in row over the Leafs or win the cup then you can brag. I'll even listen to you a little if the beat the Leafs once in the playoffs but until then even the most die hard Sens fan has to admit that the Sens are a pitiful team come play off time.

I'm for the Sens, but probably be Pens in 5 maybe 6 games by the look of things.

We are talking about one of the hottest teams in the league facing off against one of the weakest teams in the playoffs.
As much as I would like to see the Sens move on, it does not look to good with all the issues (injuries and confidence) that have happened this year.
Remember family, that only one team wins it all each year. Having been 7 rows up at a Cup game last year, you know what it takes for your team to get there. You also know that vindictive people who have never experienced something like that in the flesh - truly have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to playoff hockey.

The Pens have about 20 free agents next year and have one player taking up 20% of their payroll so this better be the year they go far.....
