Are you happy with the Sens' offseason moves?
Thu, August 28, 2008

The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.

They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.

Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.

Cryin Bryan accused the Pens of blowing the last game so they wouldn't have to play the Flyers saying that they (the Pens)are scared to be banged around and wanted to play the Sens ....but the truth has come out now!!!!

The Sens were watching the Leafs win those games at the end of the season so they (the Sens)went into the tank so just in case the Leafs made the 8th spot they wouldn't have to play them and face ANOTHER EMBARRASSING 1st round loss to the Leafs.

As if this isn't going to be embarrassing enough when the Pens knock you off anyway.

Ok go ahead say it ....only the twisted mind of a Leaf fan could think that up but I watch the Sens year after year make excuses for their not being able to win the Cup...well its time to "PUT UP OR SHUT UP"

They allowed 53 shots on net? How pathetic can this be! And..where are their so called "snipers? Heatley had two shots on net..Spezza had one. It's getting more and more obvious that,if Alfredsson doesn't put the puck on a silver platter for them two,all they do is "float" around. They'll go back to Ottawa for game 3 and 4,and get booed right outta the building.Kinda ironic though, that Gerber was supposed to be the weakest link.Even if Alfie makes it back, gone in.... FORE!!!!!!!

Time is running out for the Senators to win. They have been a very good team for the past 5 or so years and always seem to never achieve their real potential.

Something is missing on that team - it's called a leader who takes no prisoners. They should have paid the price to get Gary Roberts last year. That might have put them over the top.

They are going to lose Wade Redden in the off-season, so there goes another one of their main players.

Alfredsson is getting older and will start to slow down in a few years, so if they don't make some major moves this summer, they are going to be left in the dust of other teams who are improving.

Man, I figured the Sens would be good for 2 wins in my hockey pool. But game 1 rhey brought nothing, and tonight they blew it! They really are playing like Hens, and it looks like soon we'll be able to stick a fork in 'em cause they'll be done! Can you say sweep?

Regarding the Bell vs. Heatley debate.

The reason for Bell's driving problem - he was drunk. This is not a good excuse, but after time and a cup of coffee he's sober.

What's Heatley's explanation? Unfortunately it's an IQ equal to the number on his sweater, and there's no cure for stupid - that's how he'll be for the rest of his life.

And therein lies the biggest problem for the Senators. Alfie has a good head on his shoulders which unfortunately was almost knocked off by Bell, but Heatley, and Spezza for the matter, are dumb as stumps.

It's not helping the Sens that they are Injury-stricken while the Pens are almost at full strength. Gerber was by far the only one who "showed up" in game 1, If it wasn't for him the score might've been a lot uglier than it already was. We have to believe that there is still some spark left in the sens that hasn't surfaced yet. We must Have faith Sens fans. GO SENS GO!!!!!!!!

Hey Pete you call Bell a criminal. What do you call Heatly for what happened to Schnider.

Here are the facts:

Sens have a great franchise with many franchise players.

The have made the playoffs every year since 1997. They made it to the Stanley cup final last year.

Their modern era has not been that long of a time and they will win a cup soon

The only people craping on the Sens are the Media and Leaf fans who both blow things way out of proportion and spend way to much time bashing other teams for publicity or self assurance

GO SENS!!!!

Wayne, I think Ottawa needs to do a bit more than dump Emery. They need some leadership and grit on that team.

The sens aren't a horrible team, they definintley are playing amuch better and more hungry team right now, but if the Sens got rid of Emery over the off Season and got a proven leader in there dressing room for next year they will be in the top 3 or 4 in the conference
