Are you happy with the Sens' offseason moves?
Thu, August 28, 2008

The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.

They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.

Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.

Sens have been losers from day one, when they tanked games in order to draft Sylvie Daigle....no heart, no guts. GO FLAMES GO!

Its funny to see all the leaf fans come out of the wood work. The Sens had a bad year, so what they will be back. Montreal stunk last year and look at them this year.

Toronto has sucked since the lockout. Why? because in the cap system they can't just go out and buy a team.

For all the gloating Toronto fans who don't really have any business on this board:

The way the Sens "folded" shows how they can underachieve and is illustrative of how they played against the Leafs. My granny could have beaten them and if they had played anywhere near their capabilities that they showed last year, there are 3 playoff series the Leafs would not have won.

Makes you think.

Rod

Did you even watch last year's playoffs?

Murray has never won the big game, never will win the big game, should be toast, but is not.

Team needs discipline, and players with heart. Congrats to Alfie for coming back with a bad knee, wish the other players had half of his heart!!!

Trade..trade..trade..Typical of Ottawa fans when things don't their way. Whatever goes on in the locker room should end at the rink door and the players need to do their work and win at that point. we all work with with people we don't like every day, get over it and do your job. I wish Ottawa fans where more like Leafs fans, true and blue but instead we are a poor excuse and whine over everything. We lost our football and baseball teams because of poor fans. BTW since everyone seems to forgotten, Emery is one of the main reasons we made it to the play offs last year!

I heard a rumour that Spezza could possibly be going to the 'nucks for Luongo. I think that this would be the anchor Ottawa need sin the blue paint. Spezza played like garbage the last three months anyways

Shane my friend, you guys had a good first half and stunk the rest of the way.you managed to back into the playoffs because Carolina lost its last game.If you base a winning season on that and going out in four straight games, i guess you can start your celebration parade now. But my guess is ther are more people lining up to jump in the river then to join the parade. We can here the splash all the way to Fort Mcmurray ab. maybe you can wear your jerseys to the golf course.

Disgruntled Fan: yours is by far the best post I've seen in these forums in a long time. It's nice to see some people actually want to discuss the issue at hand instead of devolving the issue to mindless Sens-Leafs bickering. Kudos to you. I agree with pretty much eveerything you said. Here's my two cents: Emery: locker-room cancer and the primary source of the Sens misery. He should be gone, gone, gone. I don't care where or what they get in return. Even buy him out and take the loss, just dump him. Redden: still a decent D-man, but not at $6.5M. Half that, tops. Gerber: I seem to be in the minority who consider him a starter and a keeper. We've got at least two bona fide goalies in Bingo who can back up Gerber next year. Keep him. Neil: thanks for the memories and have a closer look at your job specs: you're supposed to actually fight once in a while. Richardson: welcome aboard in a coaching capacity. Speaking of coaches; where art thou, Pat Burns? C'mon down! Donovan and Kelly are keepers. Spezza: LA's calling, dude, and you won't have to worry about your yearly playoff disappearing act. I submit for consideration that it has never been a lack of talent, it is a lack of intangibles. And where, oh where, is the next Alfie? Who (Fisher, I'm guessing) is being groomed to assume the captaincy once our boy Danny retires? All in all, the foundation is solid. We'll be back. Cheers, deap

Wayne "Hockey -dumb fan base" Well at least we have a fan base! Not like your Senaturds, whom we outnumber in your own arena!
