Are you happy with the Sens' offseason moves?
Thu, August 28, 2008

The Sens are a team that went to the Stanley Cup final two years ago before suffering a disappointing season in 2007-08.

They have a new coach and now no more Ray Emery.

Can the Senators turn it around and make a fresh start next season? Have your say in our forum.

Excuse me? New to this DB. I wasn't aware that anything I posted had to be cleared through you first.

Having said that, I'm not even sure what your point is. I know both were beaten out in the 1st round. All I said was, the Senators got a few days head start on their golf game over the Ducks in that they lost 4 straight while the Ducks extended their series a bit.

In every other DB I've visited there seems to be a resident S*^t-disturber whose only submissions appear to be designed to stir the pot. Are you this version's pain-in-the-ass?

Norbit

I really dont have a favourite team, I follow all the Canadian teams. I prefer watching the late game on Saturday night when the Flames, Oilers or Canucks play.

Does this help you with some ammo you want against me ? lol.

One thing for sure, I will do anything to avoid having to watch the Laffs play regardless of who it is.

I think after watching Spezza's poor performance in this years playoffs they would want more than just him for Luongo if there is any truth at this rumour. I know I would.

The Canucks need goal scoring and Spezza is a play maker. Time will tell I guess.

Wayne, I dont believe Ive ever seen you mention who your team is? Are you a Habs fan?

Ottawa at least got a few days head start over Anaheim on their golf games. Maybe there is something to this Stanley Cup "hangover" after all. Of the last 3 winners two have been consistently out of the playoffs (Carolina and Tampa), and Anaheim can't get past the 1st round, while among the losing teams Edmonton and Ottawa dropped like proverbial rocks, although the Sens did manage to hold onto a playoff spot thanks to that fast start. Nor has Calgary been a model of consistency either since their cup appearance, although they could go a long way to turn that around with a win in game 7. We'll see.

KW

pete's team didnt make the playoffs, he is an Oilers fan. that explains so much about him lol.

they were out golfing well at the indoor driving range at the same time the laffs were on the golf course lol.

Well Pete I see your team made the playoffs too....in fact they kinda look liked the Sens this year ( goalies whining and all).

I'll say the same thing...FORE!!!!

Spezza and heatley were invisible against the Pens.

Heatley cant score if Spezza cant give him the puck in the scoring areas.

Put Spezza on the block and get a center that will take a hit to make a play. Keep Heatley, he is a 50 goal scorer and they are hard to come by. Try and trade Emery and if they cant try putting him on waivers before buying him out. maybe at $ 2 million the Kings might bite.

Redden wont be resigned, so there is $ 6 million they can spend on a puck moving defenceman. They need a proven leader, Adam Foote would be a good choice, he doesnt have a problem calling his teammates out and I think he is a free agaent this summer.

The Sens can still be a good team next year and compete for the division if they make the right moves.

Getting rid of Emery has to be the first move.

kw, just another fact you have wrong, I'm an Oiler fan not a Sens fan. The fact I pointed out some inacuracies in your latest diatribe does not necessarily mean I have an affiliation with that team you spewed about.
