What's plaguing the Canucks?
Fri, March 7, 2008

Roberto Luongo went off following the Canucks' loss to Colorado last week, breaking the unwritten code with spoken words. He was frustrated, and he articulated that frustration, implicating unnamed teammates in the process.

Publicly, they said all the right things. Willie Mitchell made it very clear that he didn't take anything Luongo said personally, and he was one of the players on the ice when Joe Sakic scored the tying goal, in a game Vancouver ultimately lost in a shootout.

Currently, the team is in the midst of fighting for a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference. So, what's plaguing the Canucks the last few weeks? Have your say in our forum.

Show some respect, Bobby Lu

Move the coach and GM

I say the coach because he hasn't figured it out yet,When Trevor plays the team seems to pick it up and shows some pride Trevor sure isn't the skater he once was , but his leadership does not go unoticed .

The GM should be let go after all the proof is on the ice Nasland and the twins have proven to us they are not finishers when the going gets tough

Nothing is wrong they just SUCK as was quite evident last night. All I have to say is watch out for the Avalance because BABY they are going to BURY the WEST.

Man Just like old times when they ruled the league. GO AVS GO Whoa

Luongo is the best goalie in the league (until the Price is a bit more right), but no way this team is going far this year. Naslund is fading and the Sedins seem to have plateaued this year, I expected more.

If they can get those two a linemate and a second line threat, then there's a chance in the future.

Nothing's "plaguing" the Canucks, they just don't have the players to compete for the Cup. They depend too much on Luongo to bail them out and the Sedin figure skaters.

The canucks remind me a bit of the senators, with a goaltender.Up and down team, with not much offensive power past their first line.Like someone else mentioned on an earlier comment, shut down the Sardine twins, and they're pretty well done. Those two are just like Spezza & Heatly,if they get banged around early in the game, they pull a "casper" and disapear.Still...I hope the 'nucks and the flames make it to the playoffs, the more canadian teams in the "show" the better the odds.

Hey George,

It isnt that there are no canucks fans out there, most just probably dont spend all their time responding to comments on a website that caters to eastern teams. I know you easterners like to believe that the leafs or Sens are the only teams that matter but I will tell you this, there are other teams out there...otherwise, who do you think have been kicking the leafs, sens @$$es for the past year, yours truly, the rest of canada

The cunucks feel the pressure from oil country, its tough to play your best whenyou feel the oil slick invading ......GO OILERS GO!!!!!!!!!

What's plaguing them? They're a one-line team that relies too heavily upon their goaltender. Shut down Naslund and Sedins and you will beat the Canucks.

4 comments over three days - shows you the difference between those who love/hate the Leafs or Sens and fans of the Canucks. In other words, who cares?

5 too many Swedes. Steven, you hit the nail on the head! If the Sedin's are the heart and sole of the team then it is obviously self explanitory. Same issue here as Toronto and Ottawa, Swedish blonde captains. All 3 of these teams captains need a fresh place to re-kindle their careers.
