What should the Habs do in the off-season?
Thu, June 5, 2008

Having a big, tough team suits some NHL clubs, but isn't the top priority of the Montreal Canadiens.

So don't look for general manager Bob Gainey to dismantle his smooth-skating club after their playoff defeat to the bruising Philadelphia Flyers.

Gainey and Carbonneau met with the media to discuss the season that just ended, in which the unfancied Canadiens finished first in the Eastern Conference and in goal-scoring in the 30-team league.
Full story: Gainey will be busy in the off-season

What do you think Gainey should do with Canadiens over the summer?

Flyers all the way. Biron has out played Price. The Flyers have been the better team.

Yes the Habs have more shots on net but stats can be misleading. The Flyers have been out playing the Habs. The only time the Habs can score is on the power play, cant do it 5 on 5 so they wont go far like that.

Well, never say die! If any team can come back, it's the Montreal Canadiens!

Even Don Cherry (not a big fan of the Habs) and Ron MacLean agreed after the game that this series is FAR from over.

I think we know it's going to come down to goalies. Can Biron keep going the way he has? I don't think so. Can Price rebound? He did before and I'm SURE he'll do it again!

I see a perfect ending to a "Cinderella" season!

GO HABS GO!

Not a Montreal fan by any means but, since the habs are the only team from Canada left in the playoffs,I was leaning towards them. That being said,They might,MIGHT win the next game at home Saturday, but eventually Philly will get the best of them.Habs are a young speedy team, but they just don't have the size to compete in a series, with a team that employs physical play like the Flyers do.

never say never, but i think it will be flyers in 5 or 6.

Clearly, the Begin interference penalty was deserved. I think the Canadiens will win the next game though and have a chance of coming back.

Anyone who thinks the Habs can make a come back is living in a dream world. They may have out shot Philly but that's all they have done. If you want to win you have to make your shots count and the Habs haven't been doing that and Philly has capitalised on most of their opportunities.

I don't know what it is but I still have confindence in the Habs. Normally i'd be writing the whole team off by this point but I just don't feel their done.

Who Cares? the fans will still burn and destroy their own city if the habs win or lose... Hab fans are smart like dumptrucks

For all the rioting and burning police cars, here we are with Montreal 1 loss away from practicing their golf swing. I think the rest of Canada really desearves to have a good laugh at this one.
