What should the Habs do in the off-season?
Thu, June 5, 2008

Having a big, tough team suits some NHL clubs, but isn't the top priority of the Montreal Canadiens.

So don't look for general manager Bob Gainey to dismantle his smooth-skating club after their playoff defeat to the bruising Philadelphia Flyers.

Gainey and Carbonneau met with the media to discuss the season that just ended, in which the unfancied Canadiens finished first in the Eastern Conference and in goal-scoring in the 30-team league.
Full story: Gainey will be busy in the off-season

What do you think Gainey should do with Canadiens over the summer?

I don't think Carey Price is doing a poor job...on the contrary. He may be doing some "on the job training" but it seems to be working out.

He did the same with Boston...an "average" game 5 and 6, and he was UNBEATABLE in game 7. I think this kid loves that type of pressure.

I say he wins tonight and in game 6...no problem. And then we all know what will happen in Montreal in game 7!

GO HABS GO!

He!he!..Glad to see that you recognize your name Sphincter of the universe.Maybe there's hope for you and the voices in your head after all.Did your hockey gods also mentioned to you, that your beloved ,lousy laffs will miss the playoffs again next year? But this is old news too.

I'll leave you be for now...I know you've got voices to listen to..

Cheers!

Montreal may win tomorrow, but it's doubtful. It wouldn't matter, they are done. Price cracked under the pressure. He is a good goalie, and too young for it. If Montreal brops some of the Euro trash and gets a little tougher, they won't suffer the same fate as the Sens, who have been a "contender" for the last several years.

Philly is hitting harder and skating faster than them.

Having 100 shots on net means nothing, if you don't score.

loser-since-67: funny how a simple one line post can bring such a strong reaction from u ... try 2 calm down b4 you get the urge to loot a store or burn something...

so who cares about how my leafs did? old news now. but did u see us riot in the streets when they lost? no! fan riots always dooms pro teams to failure. only stating a fact, i never slammed ur habs, i actually feel badly for the players, but the hockey gods have spoken!

Ok. So you can't mistake me for a bandwagon jumper or fairweather fan. This is my team " Les Canadiens " and no matter what happens in the future; This season has been great for them and their fans.

Right now, it seems that the ghost of Kate Smith is warming up her pipes, but you can bet that the old Canadiens ghosts will be in the house for Game 5 tommorrow night.

Look the reality of Game 4 was that the flyers looked like deers in headlights after Koivu's goal - the second - and then ........

Steve Begin happens !!!!

After Hatcher in game 3, there's only 1 word to describe that hit.....

BONEHEADED

The Habs have put themselves in a desperate position, and the only way the old Canadiens ghosts will help them... is if they help themselves.

Back to Philly for game 6.

GO HABS !

Don Cherry said that the habs arent done so ok lets just give the habs the series now.

We know he is always right about everything. Ohh I wonder if he might be sucking up to Quebec for some of the bad things he said about them over the last few years ?

Montreal cant get any offence going because all there top forwards are european and afraid of getting hit led by Kovalev, he has all the talent in the world but no grit.

He should easily be at least a 50 goal, 100 plus points man a year but isnt because he only plays well when he feels its like which is about 50 or so games a year.

chris

Just because the habs are out shooting the Flyers that means to you they are out playing them ? lame reasoning you moron.

the habs had at the start of last nights game 17 power plays, the Flyers had 9. gee do you wonder how many shots the habs got from all them power plays ? no you dont.

habs are done, they might win in montreal saturday night but it will be over when it moves back to Philly.
Bill, 2008-05-01 19:04:57

Yes I think the Habs can come back, I thought they were playing and skating better than Philly, this is as far as Philly will go if they win this series, in over their heads anyway, Bob Gainey isn't looking to bright though.......

Schincter of the universe...

Must be the voices in your head "trying to tell you something here".Does it sound like "the laffs suck"?.Typical laffer!..After your team fails to make the playoffs YET ANOTHER YEAR,you join force in bashing any canadian team that actually DESERVE to be in the nhl.KARMA my boy!...It's the only "hockey god" for the likes of you.
