Can the Leafs reel in the last playoff spot?
Sat, March 22, 2008

The Leafs lose the easy ones but win the tough ones.

After shedding three players at the NHL trade deadline, the Leafs have 20 games to close the gap on 8th place in the East, but will need some help.

Can the Leafs perform the improbable and reel in a playoff spot?

Hey Chuck - are you getting nervous? Remember Game 82 last year... we are coming after you. Go Leafs Go!

Roy calm down. If you are offended you shouldn't be... what you should actually be is ashamed of your fan base and the perception they leave on the rest of the world. And Popsicle Pete tune in please, you have a realisitic shot at the Stanley Cup every year? Check your history please. Your team is on derail right now! And your team only has a shot at the Cup when the lowly Senators don't face the Leafs in the Playoffs. Hey if I had it my way, I'd love to knock off the Habs and the Sens this playoff season. HNIC would love it. And to the Western Canadian teams all the best to you in your chase for Lord Stanley.

...the Laffs will make the playoffs ...and Jesus will return - I wouldn't hold my breath for either if I were you!

Golf Laffs Golf !!

41 freaking years w/o Lord Stanley's Cup ...and you STILL haven't figured you that you're a bunch of LOSERS!!!! At least you continue to amuse the rest of us hockey fans w/ your soap opera-like media coverage. Keep up the good work ass-clowns!

Well anything is possible for the leafs as long as they have faith and the Lord god almighty. Many would think my statement is corny, but as long as you have Jesus anything is possible. Go Leafs Go I'm praying for you guys***

Well, the Leafs won both games against the Flyers and I couldn't be happier. Now they will almost assuredly not get a decent draft pick due to a quaint but misguided notion that they are a post-season threat. I predict they will finsh in 9th or 10th, get a crappy pick, likely trade it for a washed up veteran, give him a 3mil/no-trade contract and continue to provide us all with fodder for our forum-posting amusement. GO LEAFS GO! LOL!!

Well, it looks like the Leafs playoff run continues, despite what some of the Toronto sports writers might think. Don't worry, there will be plenty of room at the parade, even for the so-called fans who counted the Leafs out and wanted to trade away the entire team. This is history being made ... from 29th to league champions. Something I'll be able to tell my grandkids about one day ... yes, I was there when the Leafs ended the 40 year drought and WON THE STANLEY CUP!!!!!!!

Peter hate to disagree with you but come out west and go to a game in either Edmonton,Calgary, or Vancouver even venture into the west coast of U.S.A. and see for your self how many people follow the leafs.Florida, Tampa Bay, phonix, when they play in these cities you would think they were at home. I am from the east coast originally and always was and will continue to be a leaf fan, times are tough for us right now but the honest fans will continue to support the buds.As for the rest of Canada not giving a crap about the buds, thats your opinion which your intitled to, but i guess when you live in a bubble you wouldn,t know anything about what happens outside "Habs" land. Have a good day

Peter: 1st of all: I have been a Canadiens fan for decades especially in the 70's when we were winning all of those consecutive Stanley Cups and the Leafs were still sucking. So don't hand me that standard "Bandwagon" crap. 2nd of all: the Leafs are not Canada's favourate team nor have they ever been. Here's a news flash: Only people in Toronto care about the Leafs while the rest of Canada couldn't give a crap about them. 3rd: learn how to spell in English correctly.

John B.: A bandwagon jumper? That's pretty funny, and nothing could be further from the truth. I've been a Sens fan since day one in 1992.

When I said I prefer to think for myself and follow a team that actually has hope, I was commenting on the fact that most Leaf fans let the national media decide for them that they're going to be Leafs' fans.

GO FLYERS GO!
