The Leafs lose the easy ones but win the tough ones.
After shedding three players at the NHL trade deadline, the Leafs have 20 games to close the gap on 8th place in the East, but will need some help.
Can the Leafs perform the improbable and reel in a playoff spot?
It's just a game. The details don't mean a damned thing, so I don't go back and check the stats. Never kept them, and couldn't care less who plays for whom, or for how much. The question was, do the Leafs have a chance, and I gave you my opinion. So Minnesota was worse than I recalled; that just makes my point even more emphatically. Thank you.

Give me a break! This year, there's too many other teams above them, so too many others would really have to tank to allow the Leafs to slide in. This team is a bad team, plain and simple! RECOGNIZE it, people! But that's what years of singing the praises of mediocre players does for you. You become blind from constantly living in denial. The fact is, the Leafs have players who could only be regarded as 'stars' or great players by Leafs Nation. On most other NHL teams, most of these players would have trouble making the 3rd or 4th line.

The oh so proud Leafs faithful are the problem. "Leafs Nation" just lacks the brain power to see it and do what the fans in any other city do to force change: BOYCOTT THE TEAM!
The Leafs have been variations of terrible since 1968 or so, correct? Yet every single game every single season is sold out. Could that happen anywhere but Toronto? You claim to truly want a better team, yet instead of boycotting the team to force change you continue to sing their praises despite the constant mediocrity!
If you want a Stanley Cup in Toronto you have to hit ownership in the one place they will feel it: in their wallet. They aren't fools, YOU ARE. Stop filling their pockets when they're giving you crap. You people in Toronto haven't figured it out yet, so I don't imagine you ever will.

With all that's taken place the last few days, Leafs won't make the playoffs this season, next season and most likely the season after that.
But hey! To the fans, keep your heads in the sand and keep buying those over-priced tickets and that over-priced Leafs' merchandise.
