The Leafs lose the easy ones but win the tough ones.
After shedding three players at the NHL trade deadline, the Leafs have 20 games to close the gap on 8th place in the East, but will need some help.
Can the Leafs perform the improbable and reel in a playoff spot?
Every team they play from now to the end are already above them in the standings and all same-Conference rivals. This means they need clean 2-point wins the rest of the way as well. They can't afford to give away points to any opponent in OT/Shootout situations, and they're tied for last in the league with the most of these types of losses. You can expect 2 games to go this route, which will add to the futility.
They won't be in the playoffs again and they'll have worsened their position for the draft. That's what's coming down the pipe, folks!
And, in my book, that's called a 'double dose' of losing, with no benefit or upside to it.

The Leafs are making their usual mad dash for 9th place. Bunch of goofs. Once again giving Leaf Nation false hope and denying them a top draft pick. (who cares?)

The COCKROACHES, er... I mean the Leafs, will make the playoff race at least very interesting.
