Will anyone take Ray Emery?
Fri, June 20, 2008

The Senators are saying goodbye to goaltender Ray Emery.

In the wake of several incidents involving both the team and member of the public over the past couple of seasons, Emery has been served with a buyout notice by the club and has been placed on NHL waivers.

Whats this remember he is only 25 years old; give me a break most people a way more mature at that age especially when they are a multi million dollar professional athlete time for Ray to grow the @#$% up. Vince this guy is not good enough for a construction job or any labourer's job you gotta have some work ethic first. He's geared for nothing more than a shopping mall security guards job.

Now that he's been put on waivers another team will pick him up and give him a contract based on incentives and bonuses if he performs. He still has some growing up to do,remember he's only 25 and some take longer to mature than others. The talent is there and the stuff that happened last season was blown out of proportion. It was a good learning lesson for him. He'll likely have to wait until the drafts are done before another team picks him up.If no NHL team wants to take a chance on him he could go to Europe for a year or two and make good money with a lot less attention from the media and proove himself again.

George "know it all" O'Leary your back. Long time no hear. Your correct about those Sens, they did play uninspired hockey, what else could it have been going from the cream of the crop for half the season to cellar dwellars for the second half. They lost respect for the management, i.e. not dealing with Emery. It should be a completely different season. Good to have you back George.
Disgruntledfan, 2008-06-21 13:59:54

Yes I think Emery will be back but on a contract that is low in base salary with alot of bonuses for games played, wins etc. He will be on very thin ice I expect and one screw up he will be gone for good.

Ray Emery is a very poor excuse for a professional athlete. He should look to getting a construction job as a labourer.

of course Emery was a big cause of Paddock being fired, heres another perfect example of a man figuring he's bigger than the team, The Senators are no differant than the Maple Leafs, you have a bunch of spoiled millionaires that figure the worl owes them a friggen living, after Alfredson fired a shot at Neidimyer in last years playoffs i would hve send that spoiled brat back to Sweden and i guess Emery saw no punishment so he's followed the lead , i guess theres no old men to threaten to beat up on the street anymore.

At the rate the Sens are losing, when is Murray gonna fire himself?

What he said George, was that GM's were divided. Some thought the team is just plain lazy, and some think 'Emery The Cancer' is the problem. Everyone seemed to agree that Emery needs to be gone the second the season is over.

Did anyone else hear the comment by Pierre LeBrun on the Hot-Stove League between the 2nd and 3rd periods of the Ottawa-Phoenix game?

What he said was, in response to the question "what's wrong with the Senators" was that he had comments from a few GMs, who would go unnamed, that they were simply playing "lazy" hockey - circling instead of stopping and rushing back to back-check, and making sloppy plays in the neutral and offensive zones (both Phoenix goals came off brutal giveways, Interesting.
George O'Leary, 2008-03-09 18:42:28

Regarding Ray Emery... can you say 'buyout'? Ottawa's first priority should be getting rid of this cancer and no other team in the league will be stupid enough to take him.
