Will anyone take Ray Emery?
Fri, June 20, 2008

The Senators are saying goodbye to goaltender Ray Emery.

In the wake of several incidents involving both the team and member of the public over the past couple of seasons, Emery has been served with a buyout notice by the club and has been placed on NHL waivers.

Disgruntled Biotch, let me spell out the difference for you. I don't continuously point out to people that their comments or their spelling or their grammar aren't welcome. I may on occassion comment that their comment is wrong or assenine, it is what it is and is welcome. You on the other hand seem to think that your mighty grasp of the english vocabulary and by association grammar is above and beyond that of us mere mortals. Secondly you feel it necessary to tell me and others how we bore you.

So, what's your point then. If that previous one was your comment - then that last one was mine! Neither one added much to the discussion I'll admit - but like you say - this is a comment site. Or do only your own inane comments count?

Practice what you preach.

DisgruntledFan, what are you bringing to the plate. Have you something to offer. That was my comment, this is a comment site. You sure like to bitch, but alas you have nothing to add. Hypocrite or Biotch, the Jury is still out..

"smoking crack" ... "are you on crack?" - "get off the crack" ... "clown" .... "moron" .... on and on and on and on .... snzzzzzzzzz

You make a bore sound interesting Mr. Perfect. Having you around would be sure cure for insomnia. Yawwwwwn.
DisgruntledFan, 2008-07-09 12:31:14

gordholio, were you smoking crack when you made that last prediction. Not even close my man. The only thing you got right was the length of the contract. Russia and 2 million plus bonus is a far cry from Columbus and 800k. Stick to what you know best, womens ringette!

DisgruntledFan, do you remember this diatribe "Once more, that last post with this nick wasn't mine - and no, I am not "George O'Leary" despite the repeated suggestions from some anal retentive twit that I am.

As for Emery, of course someone will give him a shot as a UFA - but it will be on a two-way contract and at considerably less than he will be making from the buyout.

Which means he will have to demonstrate some work ethic and a desire to make his way back as a # 1 goalie while at the same time making more money than most ordinary people.

DisgruntledFan, 2008-06-23 10:29:31"

You were wrong yet again!!! Are you sure this is not George "know it all" O'Leary?
Disgruntledfan, 2008-07-09 08:22:55

I can see Emery going to Columbus or some other poor team.

He'll probably get around $800,000 per year on a one year contract.
gordholio, 2008-07-07 15:21:59

Well..no one has yet, and pretty well all the teams have their goaltending duos in place already.

Maybe all the GMs are affraid to take along all the garbage that'll follow, with his questionable "skills".

Rick

Good post, way to give it to Peter. All these Laff fans that try to put down the Sens are hilarious.

They dont see how stupid they look doing it. Must come naturally to them I am thinking.

When the Laffs actuatlly make the playoffs again and go farther than the Sens then and only then should they be lipping off. Not when there team doesnt make the playoffs for three years in a row and will be at least another 3 or 4 till they do again.

Yes I think Emery will get another chance. He is a good goalie that just got caught up thinking he was bigger than his team.

I would agree with whoever it was that said he will probably get a low base salary with alot of built in bonuses for games played, wins, goals against average etc.

Also it will probably a 1 year deal with a club option for another year.

The Kings might be a good fit because hockey isnt a big deal there ( or most american cities ). They would have to hire a tough, no non sense type of coach ( like a Pat Burns ) to handle Emery.
