The Ultimate Fighting Championship is expecting a record crowd for its first venture into Canada, with interim welterweight world champion Georges St. Pierre topping the bill on April 19 at the Bell Centre.
UFC president Dana White said more than 13,000 tickets were snapped up on the first day of pre-sales open only to members of UFC Fight Club, a fan club for the top mixed martial arts organization.
Are you happy that the UFC is finally coming to Canada? Or is it too violent and should be banned? Have your say in our forum.
We have been waiting a long time for this. Hopefully the old guard in Ontario will watch with an open mind and see what a great and honourable sport this has developed into. It is a far cry from the old no weight class and "anything goes" rules. I have been a boxing fan for years but I find MMA to be far more entertaining.
