After alternating goaltenders for the last nine games, Ottawa Senators coach John Paddock is changing things up in the net.
With an eye toward picking a clear-cut No. 1 after the next 10-15 games, Paddock is looking for either Martin Gerber or Ray Emery to show they're worthy of the job.
Crunch time is coming. Who is your pick to be the No. 1 goalie for the Senators? Or should they go with splitting the duties between the two? Have your say in our forum.
Looking out for No. 1
And Gerry, bum or not, Hasek would have made the difference last year and a cup in hand is worth two...

Gerber did well at the start of the season when Emery wasn't around. Let Gerber be the man.

In fact, I see the Habs pulling ahead of them in the Division and maybe both Pittsburgh (who are playing better without Crosby than Ottawa is without Heatley) and NJ passing them in the Conference.
Guys like Vermette, Eaves, Corvo, Donovan, Robitaille, and Neil just do not have what it takes to step up when the big guns are out of the line-up, and that has become painfully obvious.
Gerber, I think, could play consistently well IF he knew he was the # 1 from here on and not be worried about being yanked because of a soft goal. Paddock is becoming too much like that idiot Keenan in Calgary, and I can see a scenario where Murray steps behind the bench again.
