Who should be the Sens' starting goalie?
Mon, March 24, 2008

After alternating goaltenders for the last nine games, Ottawa Senators coach John Paddock is changing things up in the net.

With an eye toward picking a clear-cut No. 1 after the next 10-15 games, Paddock is looking for either Martin Gerber or Ray Emery to show they're worthy of the job.

Crunch time is coming. Who is your pick to be the No. 1 goalie for the Senators? Or should they go with splitting the duties between the two? Have your say in our forum.

Looking out for No. 1

The team in front of the goalie has played very poorly. That said, Gerber has not stolen any games for them and has been inconsistent at best.

You need a goalie to steal games and if Gerber won't do it after 14 straight starts, try Emery. He's a better goalie, better at puck control, and we know he can steal games.

Everyone needs to get over the so-called Emery fiasco and remember that the game is played on the ice and Gerber isn't there right now.

I feel the poor performance of the team can be directly attributed to Emery and the dissention he has caused. Dump him and bring Paddock back and we'll have a team to be reckoned with.

corn. By the quantities of labour, we can, with the greatest accuracy, employment. But it is not easy to find any accurate measure either of

Hey Gerry, Haseks adductor muscle injury was for real.I know because I had the same injury a few years ago playing hockey.Lateral leg movement is extreemly limited. One might seem fine, but it's a very long and difficult heal. Poor Hasek,I'm probably the only one who believes him.

What has Emery done to deserve such a bashing? OK I get it he showed up 4 minutes late for practice and he is transformed into an outcast. Is this not the Emery who took Ottawa to the finals last year. The guy was injured and I think the coach frustrated him at the start of the season when he (coach)did not come up with a workable solution as to who will be in the nets. I will not bash Gerber but I think that Emery deserves a fair chance here based on last year's performance.

Get off the pot and just pick one. Either one. Neither have proved to be a number one let alone a 1 and 1a.

That bull, Rick. People know you're from Ottawa in Toronto they show it. I went to an outdoor show wearing a radio station shirt and someone wanted to have me kicked out of a beer garden for wearing it. can you please the ignorance? even Americans get in on that (another such incident I might add that happened in Toronto). I think for a change it looks good on Toronto sucking a season like the good old days of the 70's and 80's. We didn't have them then for it. Now losers like Tucker still reign in that whiner/bruiser mentality we loath here. Anyway, Emery is not performing up to expectations this year so between him and Gerber, I'll go with Gerber. he did start the season off with a bang no less.

Holy smokes Jim, a little overkill I might say. Emery certainly has some issues but to label him a disgrace is unfair and below the belt. As far as playing time, management is likely going to go with whoever's hot. And rightly so. It,s still up for grabs. Guy from Ottawa

Rick, it was Ottawa fans that started the whole battle of ontario thing. We honestly don't pay attention to the sens. Sens fans walk around toronto with their jerseys on, and never get bothered.

You guys, however, freak out when half your building is filled with leaf fans cheering for toronto. and god help the poor sucker who wears his leaf jersey in kanata. You want to send Emery over here? leaf fans would love to see him here! I'll pass the idea to cliff right now...
