Are MLB players telling the truth?
Wed, February 13, 2008

Brian McNamee said he injected Roger Clemens with performance-enhancing drugs more often than he previously claimed, starting their high-stakes testimony before U.S. Congress on Wednesday with new attacks on the credibility of the seven-time Cy Young Award winner.

"I have helped taint our national pastime," McNamee, the pitcher's former personal trainer, said in his prepared statement, released before the start of the highly anticipated hearing.

Clemens has denied the accusations that became public in December's Mitchell Report.

Do you believe Clemens and other players when they say they did not inject themselves with performance-enhancing drugs? Have your say in our forum.

NO a big fat, NO!

The proof is the following list:

Mark McGuire, Rafael Palmeiro, Narry Bonds and now of course the "OLD PHENOM" Roger Clemens.

I simply do not believe players that continually improve after the age of 35 and well into their 40's are on any regular legal nutritional supplement. Given the tie in between dollars and performance combined with the lack of enforcement regarding superstar players in high level pro and amateur sports, it is just too easy and tempting to not take anything that will give you an edge.

I dont know why everybody is in a rush to judge, if a player say's he didnt take steriods, then I believe him. As the Great Bob Marley said " I took a puff but I didnt inhale" man

Can the Blue Jays get rid of Greg Zaun for using steroids?

When I see fans of the Yankees giving back some of the World Series championships they have won, then I'll believe fans actually care about performance enhancing drug use. Until then, this is just a witch hunt that a lot of marginal fans seem to be getting upset about with Barry Bonds being the poster child for their fervor. Clemens, IF he took HGH, did so at a time where I believe it was not illegal to do so. No harm no foul. Anyone who ate at MacDonald's yesterday got a good fair dose of growth hormone as well in the beef. I'm sure in the future they'll outlaw a lot of stuff they feed to cattle but we won't all become cheaters overnight when they do.

I say lay off the Rocket and yes, even Bonds. Guess what, these guys are paid to take whatever edge they can to compete and win and some of them did. They are people, not saints, and are under scrutiny because they are perceived as heroes because of their success on the field. People built them up and now are trying to tear them down, but unless these fairweather fans are willing to forego the championships resulting from these altered performances and throw the ball back, I can't see it's that big a deal

I say let them all do steroids if they wish! if glory is that important and they want to die at 50 with nads the size of raisens, so be it! THINNING OF THE HERD!!!!

Why pretend to police it? spend that money on educating young atheletes and hold up those dead examples of ego!
