No. With the offence so dismal last season, why would you trade your second best offensive weapon? You trade Rios for a starter like Matsuzaka or Francis --- not a role player. Get a good young pitcher through the system like most good teams!

What's the question? Riccardi to SF? Sure, go for it - but leave Alex in TO. Seriously, JP has to be outta his mind to even consider this. I'll tell you what JP has accomplished, though: He's now made Rios think twice about staying where he isn't wanted. Rios' next contract won't be with Toronto.

Rios for Johan Santana yes. Rios for Lincecum NO NO NO. If they make this trade they will lose me for one as a fan. Rios is going to win an MVP one day and I want to see that.

Trading Rios is foolish. This is the only all-star we've got outside of our pitching staff! With the Jays' batting woes last year JP would get rid of the one proven hitter in the "hope" that 5 different players will get out of their slumps?! And for the thing they don't need- pitching?! Tough to be a Jays fan on the other side of the planet when there are many dumb decisions being made!

The Giants should not make this trade. Rios is a great ballplayer, but a talented pitcher is much harder to find...
