Should the Blue Jays have traded Alex Rios?
Mon, December 10, 2007

An offer of outfielder Alex Rios to the San Francisco Giants for starter Tim Lincecum, was on the table.

Lincecum brings serious heat on the mound and, at just 23, has barely scratched the surface of his potential.

Should the Blue Jays have traded Rios? Have your say in our forum.

Rios to stick in Toronto

Not on your life. JP is a supreme village idiot. Get rid of JP and Gibbons with him and the Jays might actually contend again!

NO NO NO. Rios is the best prospect to come along in a long time. Leave the team as they are for another year to see if i little bit of maturity will help

You have a good player and he is young, keep him, make a deal for Wells. The big contract you gave Wells is going to haunt you for a long time.

Why not swap JP for John Ferguson for a year or two? Can't be any worse

Why would you trade a sure star, who is a year away from being a greater star for someone who is unproven?

No they shouldnt trade Rios. He will be a superstar in the next few years. If J.P. does trade him he should be fired.

All Star for a Prospect? This seems like a desperate GM trying to do something instead of nothing. The only problem in Toronto is JP...wake up and signs some serious free agents or make a trade to better the organization not throw the Jays into the continuous rebuilding stage that is JP!

It seems to me that JP is still trying to justify his amazing lack of management. Rios to anyone if JP goes with him.

Interesting comment, Lincecom has barely scratched the surface of his potential. What is Rios chopped liver, the man is just coming into his own and will probably be a superstar within the next two years. JP you want to make a trade, why not JP back to Oakland in exchange for Billy Beane's jock strap and if he doesn't wear one then it's an even trade.

This trade proposal makes no sense. Why would you trade an allstar for a prospect? Unless there is something they're not telling us, there is no logic to this trade.
