Should Sundin seek a trade?
Sun, December 2, 2007

While he's been the face of the Maple Leafs for 13 seasons, Mats Sundin is running out of time to win a Stanley Cup.

Yes and he should take Pavel Suckina, Brian McWaste, Darcy Whiner, Andrew Raycrap, Andy Wozabadpik, and Hal "the 18-foot Pilon" Gill with him.

After all these years they've never figured out that he needs 2 wingers that can play with him and not the overpaid pretenders that have come and gone over the years.

Sundin should only seek a trade on the condition that the Leafs also trade away their first round picks for the next ten years or so, as is their custom. In addition, he should stipulate that three or four prospects should go with him, in return for several fourth round picks and a journeyman who is good for a dozen goals a year....

Trade the bum he is over rated and also a whiner.I don't know who would want him.

trade for picks & or players prospects, no high price players needs to be coming to toronto hockey leafs retirement centre. we got lots of over paid under acheivers now! trade all except vesa toskala.

sundin needs to move on appreciated as he is ,he's over the hill& we all know over the hill means exactly that!he's fillthy rich & old.most of all we need to trade ferguson&muarice!NOW!!!

Matts has always been for Matts and I never have seen him as a leader of the team. He scores goals. He is not vocal towards his players. To be a leader you need chatter on the bench. He can't do it all. But he as a leader needs to start kicking people in the ass and light a fire under them. Getting a go ahead goal just isn't enough to light a fire under players in Toronto. The who's who in the goalie department isn't helping the team either. They shouldn't have got rid of Roberts or Pecca either. What's Domi doing now?

I think the answer is pretty simple when you have won 16 of 41 games...Sundin should definitely seek a trade..it would be good for him and it would start the long needed process of rebuilding in Toronto..the question is...do you trust Ferguson and Peddie to get the deal right? If you are Peddie how do you let a GM who might not be here next year make the most important trade in 10-12 years for the orginization...and why does a guy like Peddie (who knows nothing about hockey) feels like he has to meddle...the reason the Leafs have won 16 of 41 games this year is because of this type of incompetent leadership

How about getting rid of Peddie and Ferguson and getting people in that know tha job. Stop letting the floaters like Kilger go. The team needs younger players that are hungry to play and a leader like Sundin to teach them.

Get rid of Fergie FIRST and foremost. You just know he would make a rotten trade and sink the Leafs further. Next send Sundin where he would have a chance at the cup. The Leafs owe him that much at least and then bring him back to help the youngsters bring back the Leaf PRIDE that once was there.
