Are the Leafs too pampered?
Wed, November 21, 2007

The entire Leafs team will be in a private box at Texas Stadium to watch the Cowboys and New York Jets play on American Thanksgiving. The Leafs play the Stars on Friday night.

"It's going to be awesome. I'm pumped," Leafs goalie Andrew Raycroft said Wednesday before the team flew to Dallas. "I'm looking forward to getting out there.

Are the Leafs too pampered? Have your say in our forum.

Look no farther than Auntie Mats as the problem.Sure he scores alot, but he is no playoff star. He wants to be back in Swedan with his Six Mil. when the season finishes. How can a stickchecker win the CUP.

Another strong performance from the Leafs last night. After 8 minutes they were losing 3 - 0. Raycroft got pulled again. The Leafs make teams like Boston and Phoenix look like playoff teams.

Brutal game last night. No leadership, Tucker is the team tough guy now.

Maurice what the heck or you thinking bot dressing Belak ???????? Yea scratch Belak for a Bates Battaglia or a John Pohl.

Think I will start rooting for Ottawa, at least they have a owner that really wants to win and a hockey department that know what they are doing.

Almost choked on my bran flakes this morning as I read The Star. I read that tucker and mcCabe collided at practice. Slamming into each other knee-on-knee. Too funny. I hear tucker was distracted by checking out his own reflection on the glass and McCabe was.....well mcCabe was just being himslf....a dufus.

Nice of Red-light Raycroft (sorry Mr Racicot)to be "pumped". Why is he looking forward to getting out there? "Out there" there is less scrutiny and no fans demanding their money's worth from this lazy bunch of millionaire whiners. Too pampered??? Dumb question...no one holds them accountable for their poor play, mistakes, lack of heart. Not the coach, not the GM, and the stupid fans keep coming back for another "next year". Well after 41 of those...I'm DONE! Go SENS!

Rick W. I lived in Montreal for eight years. Every where in your diatribe where you have stated leafs, TO or Toronto you could replace with Habs or Montreal. To say any differently would only be lying to yourself. The only thing worse than a leaf fan is a Hab fan.

Pampered, I don't know about that, but the centre of attention, certainly. Look down the list of topics and see how many are about the Leafs. "Should heads roll", "What's wrong with", "Get rid of Ferguson". Frankly the Leafs are not good enough and not close enough to winning a cup to warrant this kind of attention. If they were underperforming or made some bad trades, there would be controversy. But this year they are playing up to exactly their potential, so why do the press and the fans have to invent topics and drama?

It must be awful being a TO fan. One win and they've turned it around and the Cup is next. One loss and the goalie should be cooked over coals and the coach sacrificed to the gods. I always say, the Leafs have become more of a religion than a sports franchise (Next year in Toronto...). I'll stay a Habs fan where the stakes are not so high and Cups are possible.

Pampered? Of course. Out of touch with the real world? You bet. Face it: They're professional athletes. The fact that they aren't having a winning season and haven't made the playoffs in a while doesn't matter at all.
Are_n, 2007-11-22 21:21:13

Personally I would have them at practice. Last thing I heard they have won 8 out of 22. I guess they deserve it. Put your feet up boys and just relax!

I totally agree with you George.....dumb question, not relevant to the game of HOCKEY....the media, once again responsible for winding up Leafs fans for no good reason...

mccabe suppotrs maurice, to do what or for what a player of mccabes talent must remain silent, or risk maurices reputation, which for me is fast disapearing, after all when do any of our lazy fat cat so called hockey players ever listen to maurice? maybe every other game, then it's either the coach is talking to the deaf players or the deaf players are not listening!

like mccabe makes seven million dollars for his crappy play why can't he keep his comments to himself at least until a new gm gets RID of him!!!

there is no where to hide now, either win on a consitent basis our dump high paid under working players, & get bsome good draft choices & lock them up long term.

the leafs are the most pampered team in the league they mkow they don't have to win so they don't!!!!!!
