NHL executives have been playing their own game of gossip -- some of it more than gossip -- wondering amongst themselves who will be the next general manager and next coach of the Leafs.

Ferguson's days in Toronto are numbered
Just because you are the son of a hockey great, were once an assistant GM with St Louis, played in the AHL, doesn't mean you have the resume to be GM of a bona fide hockey team in the NHL.
Peddie needs to go back to managing his condos and Tanenbaum and the rest of the board of directors of MLSE need to step back and re-evaluate whether or not they want to make some REAL money by having a winning team, or risk losing fans by constantly failing to listen to the very people that make this team financially viable.
Leafs fans have suffered long enough. Give us a contender!

Ok bottom line is this guy played in the AHL and was later GM of the Worcester IceCats!? He played some role in the St Louis organization and St Louis had some success in the early nineties, but correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't St Louis in the basement when JFJ was around?
Wow, I'm impressed that's quite a resume.
This really shows how dysfunctional the upper management is at the leafs organization. This resume may have impressed the likes of Peddie, (who knows even less about running a hockey team anyway). Who in their right mind would have hired this guy to begin with? JFJ has given this CITY exactly what he knows best: an AHL quality team ...not one competitive at the NHL level.
JFJ didn't stand a chance from the beginning and the only reason he was around for this long is because the leafs had acquired some quality players long before JFJ was around.
The good news in all this, is that the leafs don't have much further to fall because they're already in the basement, but it is time to stop the bleeding and make sure this teams doesnt go any further by digging their own graves.
MLSE should spare all the leaf fans and just clean house at the top. JFJ included.

the owners. The owners are not committed to putting a winning
team on the ice,the leafs will
never win the Stanley with the current ownership in place.

Yet nobody could have predicted how bad Vesa, Jason and Bell would play for the Laffs. Is it the coach's fault? Could be since the Laffs are really disorganized out there. Yet not all is Mo's fault eg. McCabe is not a stud defensemen, only a power play specialist and he is being forced into a role he is incapable of filling. How would one go about coaching Devereau, Pohl and Belak when they just don't have the talent to deliver? So little depth on this team. 2nd line centre Kyle is ranked 270 by the NHL. No impact players aside from Sundin. And Peddie thinks JFJ might be a mistake. Wow!
