Brett Hull is once again in an important position at a crucial time for the Dallas Stars.

Hull and Les Jackson were both made interim co-general managers of the Stars after the team fired Doug Armstrong on Tuesday.

Was Hicks right to fire Armstrong after the Stars' slow start to the season? Have your say in our forums.

The reason why the Stars fired Armstrong was more a PR stunt as the team is playing with several thousand empty seats. They are way behind in the public spotlight after the Cowboys and Mavericks.

They even have a 2 for 1 ticket special for the Stars games.

Sounds pretty desperate to me.

I believe that Brett Hull is a US college graduate or at least he went to college. He surely must know something about the three R's (Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic, and not Replay, Rebound and Rebel) He is well spoken and he played the game on both sides of the border. I don't see a down side here.

Hull a good G.M.? Couldn't do worse than the beer salesman we had as G.M. of the Hans a few years back. As a player Reggie was a good soldier, but as a G.M. he found it was definitely easier to sell beer!

What the hell does Hull know about managing anything let alone share the position with another. This is a desperate move.... that will clearly backfire.

Hull would make a great colour commentator --- he was hilarious on HNIC's Hotstove a couple years back. But that is about as useful as I think he is --- a GM? We'll have to wait and see. The Islanders went with a fresh ex-player in Garth Snow, and the team hasn't really improved much.

It was Hull that probably got Armstrong fired by whispering in the owner Hick's ear.

Hull doesnt have any experience. I hope he fails big time. Hull thinks because he played in the NHL he can be a GM ? He will fall flat on his face and I will be laughing at him.

B. Hull has no respect among his peers. He was a puck hog and we shouldn't forget his conduct at Nagano Olympic when he threw hotel furnitures out the window. How embarrassing. Us Olympic Org. was breathless.

Hull doesn't have much experience, so we'll see.

He is not the sole GM right now, so he will be getting help from the other guy.

He's an ex-hockey player, so he certainly has good hockey knowlege, but we'll have to see. To early to make predictions.

In his career he was a major puck hog (selfish) and a pylon. These traits will continue as a GM.
