Can the Oilers make the post-season?
Mon, March 31, 2008

Can exuberance make up for inexperience? Can momentum make it possible to scoff at long odds?

The Edmonton Oilers insist the answer is yes. And now that they've climbed to within three points of a Western Conference playoff berth with 12 wins in their last 15 games, who's to say they're wrong?

Can the Oilers make the post-season? Have your say in our forum.

making the playoffs all those years doesn't translate into overall success you idiot. They've won the Cup two times in all those consecutive appearances you speak of. TWO. That's a winning percentage of..hmm, not sure but it's not great. No team you say? I believe the Edmonton Eskimos made it to the post-season for over 30 consecutive years so, once again, you're wrong.

Being an actual fan means you cheer for your team no matter whether they do good or bad, something you would be unfamiliar with since you just cheer for whoever does best in a given year. Any fool with even an iota of hockey knowledge acknowledges that Chicago,Edmonton and Phoenix are teams of the future, but like I said that is any person with actual hockey knowledge, which means not you lol.Your girl league comments amuse me, because those same girl leagues likely cut you from the practice squads for being too soft. To say I know nothing about hockey because I cheer for Edmonton tells me allllll I need to know about you Captain Bandwagon, and your actual level of hockey knowledge. Please stop embarassing yourself be pretending like you know anything beyond what 'The Hockey News' tells you. lol, silly fool.

look it up you idiot. No team has made it more times to the post season in consecutive years than Detroit. you probably wouldnt have learned that in your girls league days. you know nothing about the game. your only argument is "wait till next year, wait till next year". Still waiting for that choke you always talk about. You know nothing aboutthe game and your team is a joke. But then "wait till next year" putz.lol You only wish you had half the talent of detroit and im not going to listen to your playoff envy any longer. My only proof that you know nothing about the game is the team you cheer for (or should I say teams, calgary and edmonton). what an idiot!

lol, nighty you should be thankful I even lowered myself to talking to your bandwagon-jumping self in the first place. You talk as though you yourself made the playoffs lol. Must be a sad life to have to live vicariously through a hockey team lol.

ps-Red Wings have nowhere near the success of the New York Yankees,Montreal Canadiens,Boston Red Sox,LA Lakers,Boston Celtics etc. Try educating yourself before making such silly statements sonny boy.
Norbit, 2008-04-29 13:04:15

enough wasting time with you and your non-playoff worthy team. if you want to talk trash against the most playoff sucsessful team in all of sports try making to the playoffs yourself. See you in 3-4yrs. Maybe...... ps STILL having a blast in the playoffs!!!
nighttrain, 2008-04-29 01:04:29

lol nighttrain, like evry bandwagon jumper in the world, you have only one line and keep repeating it. you amuse me.
Norbit, 2008-04-28 13:07:39

the edmonton who????Flames isnt it?
nighttrain, 2008-04-27 19:10:38

Wow nighty, you certainly are an funny one. Lol, I like how you wait until Detroit has a couple wins and then start crowing. Your bandwagon team is playing well, just hope Franzen stays hot, because oddly enough he seems to be their only offence right now lol.
Norbit, 2008-04-27 03:08:33

AAAAAAAnd dont forget to mention you will cheer for the flames when they fail. LOL you oilers fans are comical And your lack of ability not to see all the talent on detroit just proves you know nothing about hockey. This isnt your girl league buddy.
nightrain, 2008-04-25 20:36:10

nighttrain, all I ever said was I will quietly root for the Flames, I never called tham "my Flames". I realize reading is difficult for you, but at least try to comprehend the basics of English.

Yes, the Wings did beat Nashville, an already ravaged by free-agency team that was without even Arnott or Dumont, and it STILL took the Wings six games lol. Nothing to brag about there nighty. The Wings won't win the West, trust me. They are regular season specialists and once Lidstrom is done, so are they because they have nothing for draft picks and nothing in their system.

So have your little laugh and your juvenile little jokes little man. Once your bandwagon of choice is done, I will laugh because even though my Oilers didnt make it this year, I always have their backs, always cheer for them and don't just cheer for whatever team does the best. Silly litte man...
Norbit, 2008-04-23 19:48:04

now now Norbi. Jelousy has never solved anything. You silly Flamer! I hope calgary makes it through so we can take them out just for you. Too bad you couldnt apply some of your oiler logic like when you said "if only the season was a few games longer we would have made it." Tonight you will be saying "if only it was the best of 9 my flames would be in the second round".LOL. By the way for someone who played the game since he was 3 and who knows all there is to know about hockey you sure blew that call on Nashville taking out the Wings. You should learn the game instead of just learning about the Oilers/Flames. PS. STILL having a blast in the playoffs.
