Does Lindros deserve to be a Hall of Famer?
Wed, November 7, 2007

Eric Lindros is hanging up his skates after a 13-year career marred by injuries and controversy.

Lindros will announce Thursday that he is retiring from the NHL to work with the NHLPA.

His total of 865 points might not seem like enough to guarantee going into the NHL Hall of Fame in a few years, due to his health and the lockout. But does Lindros deserve to be elected into the Hall, despite the few honours he garnered on the ice? Have your say in our forum.

Lindros says goodbye

I'm with 90% of the respondants in that he should not be inducted.

It is for those who achieve or over-achieve.

No! He HAD great potential but a few good seasons does not a HOFamer make. I think overall he's had more of a negative impact on the NHL than a positive one so ... give the honour to someone more deserving.

Plain and simple....NO....for how he ruined junior hockey...and tried to dictate where he went and on his terms...leading the way for more prima donnas who think they were great. He just wasn't that good...but where you people are wrong....he helped build 2 championship teams....1 in Colorado/Quebec where he refused to report and one in Sault Ste. Marie ....where he refused to report....if there is any reason why he shouldn't get in....it is the fact that people in the hall are great and/or built championships while they were part of the teams....whereas these teams won because Lindros never showed up....addition by subtraction....who other then Bob "Lindros is the greatest thing since sliced bread" Mackenzie would vote or even nominate him....Bure and Anderson, Roenick and Hull belong in there before Lindros. If I was in the Hall and Lindros was elected...I would asked to be removed as the hall would become cheap and meaningless if they let the mediocre Lindros in

The game is better off without him or his family and their almighty arrogance...good riddance and no luck.....

Eric may have been one of the biggest crybabies in the NHL but if you consider that of the time he actually appeared on the ice his record should put him in the Hall of Fame.

The big thing is his actual time on ice and points accumulated and his skill when he did play.

On what basis would melon head Lindros go into the HOF? He had 2 or 3 good seasons, doesn't even have 400 goals, won the MVP in a shortened season, he's a proven bigot, and he still hides behind his mommies apron strings.

Lindros is a loser both in sports and in life, nothing to celebrate there, the NHL is better for his leaving.

there you go insulting again jimmy. Why don't i send a list of which things I am going to comment on and you won't have to work as hard to find me to add nothing but insults.

LMFAO wayne, you have to write down what he accomplished on paper and then write down what others accomplished and then compare them ? Thats hilarious LOL. See I told you many many times you are always good for some laughs LOL.

wayne while you have your paper out why dont get some string and a map and measure how far it is from Buffalo to Hamilton again LOL.

As for the quebecer statement buddy get your head out of that dark place.

Its common sense, he don't belong there. Just because he led his team to the final once and won MVP once, it doesn't mean you belong in the hall of fame. His numbers are not there, AT ALL!!! There were power forwards before him. He did nothing to warrant HOF(Hall of FAME) status. If he makes it, they better open the floodgates and let half of the past players in.

Common , give me one good reason (I mean HOF reason) why he should be there?

And BTW, I hate the Leafs, I think Sundin deserves to be in before Lindros.

Of course Lindros should be in the HHOF, if for nothing more than standing up for himself. The man's a Hero in my books. Best of luck Eric.
