Does Lindros deserve to be a Hall of Famer? Wed, November 7, 2007
Eric Lindros is hanging up his skates after a 13-year career marred by injuries and controversy.
Lindros will announce Thursday that he is retiring from the NHL to work with the NHLPA.
His total of 865 points might not seem like enough to guarantee going into the NHL Hall of Fame in a few years, due to his health and the lockout. But does Lindros deserve to be elected into the Hall, despite the few honours he garnered on the ice? Have your say in our forum.
Of course he should be in the hall of fame. The only people questioning this is the media because you're bored from lack of trade action and drama.
The guy is a 6 time all star, 2002 Gold Medal, 1992 silver medal, 1994/5 Hart and Pearson winner.
1.14 PPG in the NHL, 2.27PPG in the OHL, 1.08 PPG in NHL PLAYOFF games.
You want to punish the guy for not wanting to play for the Quebec owner and for not getting along with Bobby Clarke???
Please... next topic.

He was one of the great players of the day...However the off-ice stuff-refusing to follow protocol re: Quebec rules him not a fit compared to some greats who were sll class and are not in. Sorry Eric

yeah, didn't Lindros pour a beer on some girl or something? or get his picture taken in the paper dressed up in a female nurse uniform....or... or was that that Ottawa Senators guy?...

Entry to the hall of fame is not only based on stats. It is based on a player's character. Lindros has NONE. He is a whiny mommas boy who had a couple good years and coasted the rest of the way. If there was a floaters hall of fame then he would be a shoe in.

No way maybe if they had a whiners hall of fame

I'd rather a player who dominated for 6-7 years, who is a hart trophy winner,be inducted over a good player who racked up a lot points over a long career but was never a top 5 canidate for the hart...examples...dick duff, clark gillies, bill barber, leo boivin and bob pulford. These good players who are in the hall of fame were not as good as lindros was for his first 7 seasons until injuries took its toll on his play.
Yes eric deserves to be in the hall of fame.

He is not deserving of this honour!!!
But his parents may have something else to say! Again!

No way he gets in before someone that really deserves it, like Glenn Anderson gets in. THAT is the the thing that the hockey people should be debating and then, doing. Top 5 alltime playoff goal and point scorer, 2 goals shy of 500, and SIX Stanley Cups. THAT, my friends, is worthy. Why are these guys even bringing Lindros up?

I Don't think he belongs I think he should be made an example, of the shelfishness that he showed to the game, no class just me me me always me. His ego was bigger than the game we love we want people in there with class diginity and above all for the love of the game.

Lindros should have played a
year or two with the Quebec
Nordiques and we probably would still have another team
in Canada..and him having a
better chance at the Hall.
