Which NHL team has the best top line? Mon, November 19, 2007
Let the arguments begin.
Although the NHL season is but a month old, tell us which NHL team has the best top line. Is it the Senators' Spezza-Heatley-Alfredsson, the Red Wings' Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom, the Flames' Iginla-Langkow-Conroy, the Penguins' Crosby-Malkin-Malone or the unheralded Hurricanes threesome of Brind'Amour-Williams-Stillman? Or is it another trio on another team, such as the up-and-coming Blackhawks tandem of Kane-Toews-Ruutu?
Give us your thoughts on whose line is the best so far this season, and who will be able to stay dangerous to opposing netminders throughout the NHL season.

I like the Spezza - Heatley - Alfredsson line as the NHLs top line. I am probably biased because next to the Habs, I probably see the Sens and Pens most.
Note to Rick. Koivu is a class act. Politicians are not. Here in Quebec, the politicians waste our money in the most creative ways claiming that separation will be good. It is not good to have good functioning hospitals, well paved roads, lower taxes, maybe zero unemployment and welfare: but it sure is good to pick on class hockey stars who share time with kids in hospitals, and set-up cancer foundations. You ever wonder why stars will not sign here? Between the high taxes, the education restrictions, the classless, crooked politicians, and some of the local scribes and photogs who are paid to search for, create or exaggerate contreversy for Habs players, it's no wonder! Great place Quebec, they screw everybody equally!

Detroit's top line and Ottawa's top line are both great lines offensivly but I will give the best in the league title to Detroit's line of Zetterberg,Datsyuk and Holmstrom because they are better in the defensive zone.

ditto what Chris said
Fold like what?? When was the last time the leafs made it to the cup final ahahaaha. Ferguson? Paaalease.
Too funny leaf fan.. you truly radiate all the traits of a stereotypical leaf fan. Enjoy missing the playoffs... for the 3 straight year lol.

Although the Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom line is off to a strong start this year, you still have to give the edge to Spezza-Alfie and Heatley due to their performance over the past two seasons and great results so far. Hey Leaf fan, I know you did not watch the playoffs because the only hockey in your world is Leaf "hockey" but Ottawa's top line finished in a 3 way tie for the playoff scoring league. I guess you use the same logic making your statement as you use when you shell out 200 bucks to sit and boo your team in your $350 jersey.

I would give consideration to Spezza-Heatley-Alfredsson, but since they always fold like a cheap card table in the play-offs, I'll pick Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom.

I'd say the Datysuk, Zetterberg, Holmstrom line has been the most dominant.
On a separate issue, it's too bad they're being politically correct by not allowing comments on the Koivu situation. Poor Koivu no more should have to speak French to be a hockey player in Montreal than Nashville players should have to listen to country music or LA players should have to have a tan. I think Quebec politicians should have to take an oath to work in the best interests of their country, Canada, and that's a lot more relevent than what language you speak doing it. It's hockey, it's a game that he was hired to play, that's it.
While we're at it, let's required him to burn the Finnish flag because he's playing here, not there. Let's make all players shoot right, not left, because of most Quebecers lean a bit right-wing in their political affiliation.
If I were Carbonneau I'd just get Latendresse to stand by while Koivu gives interviews and act manacing towards any interviewers who have a non-hockey, language agenda and are trying to stir up controversy
