Where should A-Rod play next?
Wed, November 14, 2007

In a decision that likely ends four tumultuous and unfulfilling seasons with the New York Yankees, Alex Rodriguez decided to opt out of the final three seasons of his contract.

New York, which failed to make the World Series in all of Rodriguez's seasons, has said it would not attempt to re-sign A-Rod if he opted out.

Which begs the question: Where will A-Rod play next? Does the World Series champion Boston Red Sox pursue the all-star slugger, or will another team make a play for his services? Have your say in our forum.

Bye-bye, A-Rod

Most athletes these days are about money, not just Rodriguez.

It's crazy - $27 million/year when the average person is struggling to make ends meet.

Totally insane what they make.

The thing about baseball is a team really is can't rely on one player to win games. A-Rod may choke in the playoffs, but so does every other Yankee, because they believe they should win but don't try to. You can only drive in RBI's if there are people on base ahead of you. Bring A-Rod to the Jays, he alreay knows the good places the get comfy!!!

The only reason he wants back into the Yankee's, is they are the only club dumb enough to pay such an outstanding amount of money

for a player who is into he own ego.

Alex is not about baseball, he's about money,

He has earned enough already to last most people 10 life times

Yes he hit alot of home runs and drove in alot of runs in the playoffs the last few years hasnt he ?

He chokes under pressure. The Yankees should have won a few world series with that stacked team but havent.

Yeah, his hitting is getting one dimensional. Just home runs and RBI!

A-Rod would sign with the worst team in baseball if there were enough zeros at the end of his paycheck. he is the MVP during the regular season then Mr.Choker in the playoffs.

A-Rod will go to whatever team is foolish enough to pay the highest price. This guy is,has been, and always be ALL ABOUT MONEY.This is the same guy who was selling autographed baseballs after his 3 Home Run night for the Yankees. How much weaker can you get? He really needed the money. It's no wonder that Jeter didn't care for him and a jerk like Sheffield was his friend. What more needs to be said!
Michael Abriola, 2007-11-11 14:26:35

He will play where ever he gets the most money. He isnt worth it though as he chokes in the playoffs.

for the toronto maple leafs. can't be any worse than who they've got right now.
Norbit, 2007-10-31 04:29:08

I'd never want to see him in a Jays uniform. This guy couldn't even collect a World Series ring by playing on the highest spending --- and previously successful ---Yankees. All he has managed to do is irk Derek Jeter, get caught cheating on his wife and bat well in a line-up full of protection (Matsui, Jeter, Giambi, Cano, Posada, etc.)

His speed is fading, his hitting is getting one-dimensional, and his defense is shaky. He is not even the best player in his division, let alone all of baseball. Perhaps Boston or Colorado can use him --- the Jays don't need to waste money on a fading star.
