Will Bryan McCabe return to the Maple Leafs lineup just in time to be traded?
The Leafs highest paid defenceman has been a target of boo birds in Toronto for his play. Should the Leafs try and trade McCabe?

Like a lot of Leaf fans I would love to see them trade McCabe ..What John Ferguson was thinking when he gave McCabe that kind of contract is beyond me, especially when you compare him to some of the premium defensement in the leagure . It just boggles the mind . Even Kaberle is way better.
Having said that, trading him will likely prove difficult if not impossible The columnist Steve Simmons really put it in perspective when he commented in a recent article, “This is the player John Ferguson has chosen to build his team around. This is his Chris Pronger, his Nick Lidstrom. Ferguson cannot trade McCabe, cannot send him to the minors, cannot place him on waivers, can probably not look at him the wrong way and cannot keep him on his feet.” Time for a trade alright, but as others have said, maybe start with Ferguson.

TRADE him

not only McCabe,,,,the whole team needs a MAJOR clean-up!

If the Leafs traded McCabe they'd miss his offence from the blueline. He's not worth the money he's being paid, but that's Ferguson's doing not McCabe's. The problem with McCabe is he isn't being used properly. This guy is an offensive defenceman who shouldn't be on the ice while protecting a one goal lead at the end of the game. He should be on the ice when you need a goal, not for defensive duties. McCabe is being paid to produce points. He shouldn't be used as a defensive horse and logging over 27 minutes a game. The worse thing that true Leaf fans can do is start booing this guy as his play will only keep going downhill. You're stuck with him due to his contract. Perhaps a little support could help his confidence and his game.

It's time they do something. How many years are we going hear them say, "we're happy with the team we have now" when they continuously lose. Adding one or two players a year is doing nothing for the team, if they keep the same core together, they get the same results, a stream of third period melt downs and no playoffs. I'm am a true blue fan, but enough is enough. I see absolutley no potential with this line up whatsoever. They've shown us no sign of improving or being competitive in ay way and I'm tired of watching them sit on their thumbs all season and all of a sudden be a force to reckon with in the final two weeks fighting for the last playoff spot and not get it. Pathetic is all it is!

Hells yes he should be traded... too bad no one will take him.

Unfortunately, no team in their right mind would trade for McCabe at the salary he's making.

To think that the Leafs could have had Chara instead of McCabe for ONLY $2 mil more per year!!! Who would not make that trade? Trade JFJ for whatever we can get!!!

Sooner rather than later.

Yes but it will never happen because he has a "no movement" clause in his contract... the only way they'd be able to trade him is if they bench him and he gets upset then demands a trade.
It's time to send a message... send Kubina down and bring up Stralman or Kronwall... bench Tucker, bring up Jeremy Williams... when Wellwood comes back, sit Battaglia or Devereaux... the Leafs need some creative players not 19 muckers and Sundin...
