Will you miss lacrosse this season?
Tue, October 16, 2007

National Lacrosse League players are holding out hope that the season can be saved.

The first game is not until Dec. 27 so there is time for the NLL and the Professional Lacrosse Players' Association to hammer out a new collective bargaining agreement. The previous deal expired July 31 and the NLL, in following through on its midnight Monday night deadline for a new contract to be in place, cancelled the season early Tuesday.

Will you miss Lacrosse this season? Have you say in our forum.

Looks like there will be a season. If you havent seen a Toronto Rock game I strongly recommend watching a game sometime. I believe the ROCK usually play home games on Friday nights.

It is as action packed as an NHL game and can be just as rough or rougher.

No, I won't miss it. I hardly noticed Toronto had a team.

To george

You cant judge the Toronto Rocks support by the number of comments in here.

They sell out the ACC every game. They are a very entertaining team. It is every bit as rough or rougher than hockey.

I watch every game I can that is on tv.

Go Rock Go

Ben

Toronto FC was a first year novelty. Next year wont draw as good.

Rock sell out all their games. Lacrosse is a fast, rough sport. I would say its rougher than hockey or at least as rough as hockey.

Jays ? How did they draw this year ? Or the last 5 ? 20,000 at a stadium that holds 50,000.

You are under estimating how well the Rock draw and there popularity.

James

Toronto FC draws 20,000 tix per game, but if they cancelled their season, no one would notice here. Same goes for the Rock. This is a Leaf, Raptor and Jay town.

George

I guess the 16,000 + ( sell outs ) that watch the Rock play at the ACC dont count as fans.

The Rock are a very entertaining team. They won back to back championships and I believe the next year they lost in the finals.

Three comments (to this point) while the thread on McCabe has been deluged with responses. That says it all. Few care.

Yes I will miss Toronto Rock games. These are players that truly play for the love of the game. The average salary is $ 1000 a game. Hopefully they will save the season as they dont start until the end of December.
Jimmy, 2007-10-17 16:55:26

Arguably the most entertaining sport being played today just shot itself in the foot. Players will never make a living on lacrosse alone and owners will never survive on lacrosse alone but set aside their philosophical differences, compromise, and together they can save a great game from fading away.

Didn't they learn anything from the fools in the other professional leagues? YES, I'll miss it. I'll miss it tremendously. But who cares about the fans?
