Can the NHL eliminate head shots? Thu, October 11, 2007
Philadelphia Flyers' Jesse Boulerice expects to receive a lengthy suspension after taking a match penalty for cross-checking Vancouver Canucks centre Ryan Kesler in the head Wednesday night.
"I reacted in a bad way -- the wrong way," said Boulerice.
Can the NHL eliminate head shots? Have your say in our forum.
No. No suspension is necessary. It is part of the game.
I would go a step further and replace NHL comissioner Betman wiht WWF's McMahhon.

Look at Boulerice's past history. He almost killed a person in junior. I think the rest of the season is a start.

Boulerice should get the rest of the year and have to reapply to get back in for next year. That was brutal.
Im a Flyers fan but I dont have any sympathy for him.

let's see two head hits from the same team in a month...let's check the GM's nhl record for penalty minutes....get the feeling this is coming from above I do
let's penalize it from where the source is

It seems the CD handed out to each NHL team about fouls to avoid has not reached certain individuals. Two viscious head hits and we are only 4 or 5 games into the season? Ridiculous!!!!!
Slap these idiots with 30 game suspensions and even take legal action since these hits are an attempt to injure and often do.
We have to start treating major offences just as we would if they happen in public. Just because it happens on the ice should not protect these individuals from the law.

When is this going to sink in? "Intentional" hits to the head should not be tolerated. Anything but a lengthly suspension of at least 20 games will remove all credibility from the league. The coach should also carry some of the responsibility as well. FOOD FOR THOUGHT...... both of the huge headshots so far this year were from Philly. Coincidence?

The 20 game suspension to Downie clearly didn't sink in, so add 10, and from this point on go up in increments of 10, while at the same time saying - LOUDLY - tht this is how it's going to be regardless of who does the hitting to the head.
